Lakshmi was a part of the first Vogue India cover! How amazing! I did not even realize she was one of the girls on the cover until Deerlike posted that lovely picture.

Hopefully a solo Vogue India cover will not be far behind!

I agree with this completely. Although I found Lakshmi to be gorgeous I feel as though beauty is a secondary quality for a model. There is so much more - aura, elegance, poise, uniqueness, posing ability, a spectacular walk. It all combines to create the perfect model. Beauty is just one part in my book. There are some girls who I think aren't the prettiest but they are my favorite models because they have something so special about them.

Speaking of which - lets have a look at her walk. I think she is still learning - she looks a little bit uncomfortable in my opinion. You can see her in this video for Gaultier she comes on the screen at around 2:30

She is probably more used to doing print work than runway. Runway is daunting for some girls at first - all the lights, all those people and so on so forth. In time she'll get the hang of it.

More designers should put her in their shows so that she can practice

Does Lakshmi have a NY agency? She'd be fabulous in some of the NYC shows! Gaultier can't keep her to himself

that's subjective. i mean, i feel the same way about Hye Park being famous because she's a korean-american "asian" model. sure i see korean girls who are more "attractive" than her, but it's really in the eye of the beholder.
