Lanvin Mens F/W 12.13 Paris

oh Lucas

i would like it so much more if those pants wouldn't be riding so ridiculously high. what gives?

i like the coats, some with the understanding that once it hits retail, the size will be dialed down a notch.

i REALLY like the coolness/street savvy look of the last looks.

oh my...
they are going to sell so many pairs of shoes......

i don't know who is going to wear the rest of it though...
:ermm:...:ninja:...:yuk:...

Thank you Fashion_Girl22 as always for the hi-rez!

Love this. The Lanvin boys haven't grown up yet, but they're dressing more interesting with one of the slickest and sickest silhouettes of the season. Love that despite the sleek silhouette, once the details and textures are revealed, it's all quite classic and old-fashion. And thank you Lucas you sexy beast for not showing any gimmicky and silly prints or tees. All the Superfuturers will be lusting after those kicks, of course.

Along with Prada, Stefano's YSL, and Bottega Veneta, Lucas rescued what would have been an extremely bland season. My fashion heroes.

Much more of a link to the womenswear (not just with the runway, of course..).
I want absolutely everything.

Much more of a link to the womenswear

agreed...
and that's what i don't like...
lanvin is not androgynous and doesn't lend itself to being so, imo...
a lot of these coats are too feminine for a mens collection, imo...

heck- they're even too feminine for me!

Gosh, the collection looks as if somebody tried to mix Tom Ford with Raf Simons! A catastrophe.

This is a beautiful collection. I see nothing feminine whatsoever. The outwears are so strong and are cut in amazing silhouettes. If exaggerated proportions are considered feminine, then God forbid menswear designers be experimental. I'm not seeing anything reminiscent of Raf and Tom's design formulas. This is classic Lanvin.

I love the little details such as the raised shoulder seams and jacket enclosure tabs. The shoes are not too bad either. They're not on the verge of ugly like those of previous seasons.

well, rick owens, lucas ossendrijver, and thom browne clearly all drank from the same well when it came to silhouette this season. that high-waisted, exaggerated shoulder idea has evidenced itself most accessibly here but i'm not sure there exists that large of an audience for it (which probably explains why almost every exit found itself paired with an all-too-commercial high top). i'm happy to see them all take on changing the shape -- quite literally -- of menswear as it has certainly entered doldrums, but i question whether or not the world finds itself ready to throw away trim and slim new millennial man for a silhouette more suited to a forties' era football hero.

^ Eventually they do. I have seen many fashion cycles, when a look gets too repetitive there always comes a breaking point I find , as you say it has entered the doldrums, you can only see that much variations of the skinny suit before it becomes tired and boring. Yes, a lot of this are influenced by 40s demob suits, but it looks so fresh

I really like it though I admit to being a bit biased towards Lanvin. Not a huge fan of some of the striped pieces but other than that, everything looks very cool and I adore the street references.

I like how the puffa jacket hybridized with the formalwear. Absolutely brilliant!! And the necklace is a nice idea too. Lots of quirky mix, even the gloves, with the leather and lamb wool?

i normally adore the Lanvin show and look forward to it immensely. but this is just a frustrating collection. i want to love it, but the silhouette is atrocious. those inflated round shoulders on all the coats? not feeling it. at all.

it's aggravating because the colours and textures of the clothes are to die for. i'd have loved to run out and purchase something from this collection, but it's all so ill-fitting, save for a couple of things.

oh well, i suppose at the very least he's trying something new and different. and there's always next season.

Probably one of my least favorite Lanvin menswear collection. I just can't get over how ugly the silhouettes are.
