when looking at the pirelli pictures, make sure to press the magnifying glass to veiw the full page bacause she is in a lot of collaged picture on the side. also, you can watch a 25 minute behind the scenes video (including a little interview with lara) if you become a free member.

and it doesn't look like she went to the press release for the calander today (the other models did) which could be a good thing since it is campaign season. miu miu was shot today, so lets hope that she was one of the 8 models.

i think you didn't get the point of view of the genius Peter Beard. so next time, take some information bofore to say bad things about.. this is just my suggestion..

I kind of agree. I really don't like the new calendar, there's something off/unflattering about that photoshoot, I can't put my finger on it. Is it the poses, the scenery.. the models looks ugly too...

Not all great photographers produce masterpieces all the time and/or are consistent in their work. Perhaps this time, his point of view is a failed one. Just my suggestion though.

yes but we can't compare the work of this team, the beauty of the models and landscapes to the calendar of the past year (plain and dead) or the one with sophia loren (black and white on the bed). please!

I disagree...the theme is really good & has some very difficult & amazing shots. Is a wonderful calendar in my opinion.

I think BerlinRocks understands the editorial and suggesting to look after information doesn't make sense because photography is art and art can be interpreted in many ways.

I think the shoot is great but not what should run in a Pirelli calendar. I don't think any of the pictures are sexy, there's a lot to discover but yes the calendars are not what they used to be, the one before was even worse.

ok i wrote a whole thing ... but i erased ...
just to tell you honey that i know peter beard's work and though i can enjoy some of his old works ... i'm pretty annoyed that he is still giving this image of Africa when he knows what's going on in this continent ... showing old traditions of a colonized continent and exotic things of this given continent is, IMO, post-colonialist ... especially in 2009 !!!
the fact they shoot this calendar in Botswana makes me more angry ... Because I think Botswana is an example of how Africa should go ... preserve their traditions and be contemporary ... for instance when last year Demarchelier juxtaposed traditions and contemporarity in the same images that was in a sense smartest ...

and eventhough there are some good images .... some of them really shock me. that's it .... for instance that one of Lara in the bath (a very vintage pre-1966 bath ) with a "black" girl behind her ...

different opinions make a world, non ?

but please give me your informations about this calendar that could make my mind changed ....

At the beginning, I didn't like the concept of the calendar, but now that I see the result I'm in love. It's artistic and sexy at the same time, IMO.

Do you even remember what their target audience is? Straight men. It's the Pirelli calendar fcs, mind you, it didn't always look like that. Nowadays it is supposed to be "sexy yet artistic". This time though...
