Lara Stone

I meant to say year, instead of career  I do not want her to retire obviously

It's so great that you met her, Manuva. And I'm also glad to hear she was very nice. She looks gorgeous in your picture.

Thanks Manuva. Her body looks great and I'm so excited about the upcoming UK Vogue cover.

I am so glad she did not dye her hair dark!

It was a cool change for the cover, but I like her natural fairness....

so beautiful with anja  what an adorable smile, and i really like the dress she's wearing

^ Hum- Lara or Anja- now that would be a tough decision!! :woot: *Not that I frequently have to decide such things, but...* B)

Lara Stone the model whose Bardot-esque looks have the fashion world agog
Every so often a truly original model emerges. Lara Stone is 25 - comparatively old in an industry where most are deemed past it by the time they reach their mid-twenties. She is a relatively curvaceous British size 10, with feet that measure a six (instead of s sample size seven to eight), wispy fair hair and a noticeable gap between her two front teeth. Yet somehow its a mesmerizing combination. Stone's unique look has designers and fashion editors swooning; Prada contracted her for a semi-exclusive catwalking deal (preventing any other designer from using Stone before she walked in its a/w 09 show), and French Vogue dedicated its entire February issue to her - making the return of sultry, Brigitte Bardot-esque, womanly proportions. Born in Holland, Stone first emerged when she entered the Elite Model Look competition in 1999. She didn't win, but the Elite judges glimpsed a flicker of potential in the 15 year old, and agreed to sign her regardless. After several frustrating years her breakthrough finally came when she made it on o the books at IMG International, and a prestigious catwalk debut in Givenchy's a/w 06 couture show followed. This season has seen the renewal of contracts with Givenchy and Hugo Boss, and Stone has also been signd as the face of Jean Paul Gaultier and Jaeger - whose chief executive, Belina Earl is quick with praise for the star of its new campaign. 'Lara is stylish, confident, chic, and most important she's a real woman.'
Perhaps these defining qualities go some way towards explaining the fact that for a/w 09 Stone walked in no fewer than 14 ready to wear shows in 19 days, not to mention a further three in Paris last July, when she opened both Chanel's and Jean Paul Gaultier's haute couture shows. She might not fit the stereotype, but this certainly hasn't stopped her fro having the fashion world at her feet. Welcome to a season in the life of Lara Stone. - Esme Benjamin

I've been watching interviews with Nancy Spungen, and it's suddenly made me realise how much I would love to see an editorial of Lara done up Spungen-esque -- big, curly peroxide hair, red lips, black eyes, and lots of punk leather. Yum.
In a Punk club or Chelsea Hotel setting, such an editorial would be amazing.

as a huge nancy spungen fan, i'd love to see an editorial of lara as nancy spungen - or at least inspired by it. it would be really nice

are you guys serious? Nancy spungen? what next Lara as Lindsey lohan.

I hope she will make an appereance at Marc Jacobs.

are you guys serious? Nancy spungen? what next Lara as Lindsey lohan.

 Eeeer, how do you come to that conclusion?

I'm not saying an editorial in which Lara is supposed to be Nancy, but just one in which she looks like her... one in which she's done up to envoke the appearance of the punk rock icon. I think Lara has the right look and the right energy for such a shoot, which would work well considering the trends this season -- leather, lace, knitwear, thick boots etc.

**Edited for drug talk**, how you got from Nancy to Lohan is beyond me.
