Power Dressing is a live shoot with a difference, combining self-defence how-to with high-fashion starring model Lara Stone. Trained in Krav Maga, a self-defence system used by the Israeli Defence Forces, Stone demonstrates to women everywhere how to defend yourself against would-be assailants in high fashion. Carine Roitfeld styles while Nick Knight captures the results for V magazine

In La Femme à Paris the author Octave Uzanne dubbed a woman's clothing 'her offensive armour' - but, in reality, fashion seldom offers protection from the violence of the modern world. The clothing adopted when a woman is at her most vulnerable to attack - the heels, furs and jewels of evening attire - actively works against the idea of self-preservation. Nick Knight sought to challenge this: born from a desire to protect his own two teenage daughters and inspired by the 'Slutwalk' movement of women reclaiming the right to dress as they wish without being seen to invite attack, Knight decided to address the notion of self-defence through a fashion shoot. For this, he chose to collaborate with two much-celebrated and empowered female fashion figures - model Lara Stone, and stylist Carine Roitfeld - to redefine the notion of 'Power Dressing' for the twenty-first century

looking now this live project. and, God, she`s so unappealing: this predatory gaze, squint, she seems to be so bitchy blonde... and i don`t think it`s a game, she doesn`t seems to be a good actress, it`s just nature. and she stands so clumsy on high heels. as a beer. she doesn`t have any grace in her movements, zero plasticity.really can`t understand her phenomenon. hope the editorial turns out more attractive than a video thanks to Carine and Nick

can you insult her even more?
And really, what we see is different from what the camera see and catch. There is a reason why she is the number 1 model, photographs so good and asked for many campaigns/eds etc.

sorry, i don`t see fact base in your comment, why she is number one. because i think . there is no logic in this thing. there is ton of really good and underrated models and there are girls which carrer phenomenon is absolutely unexpected. lara was very lackluster before Carine and Riccardo noticed her. she was in modeling business since her 14 or 16 years and very unsuccessfull and she wanted to get over with it, but then she found her lucky star (in her 22) and could anyone think what one of blonds from sisley s/s 2006 campaign turned into a star of fashion business.

well, that's the industry. i mean lot find freja boring and she is doing great, lots hate arziona's walk and she is still booked everywhere. Some models get their big break and stay in the industry, others don't. I don't get your whole comment, i mean saskia de brauw is 29 or something and is now getting her big break. Some are like Daphne 15 (now 17) and book the blue chips. That's just the industry, if you like it or not. Who cares Lara was the sisley girl, that she wanted to quit. She met the right people because of IMG and the rest is history.

i don't get your comment about fact base, cause the only fact i'm given is that she is #1 model and i'm not given facts or reasons why she is that.

however, i'm not going to battle this, you don't like her, fine i love her and hopefully me and her fans see more work of her soon
