This week’s
fashion idol is Laurel Stovall. She is about to be living the dream of many girls right now: - “A small town girl moves to the big Apple to make it as a fashion model”. She is a prime example, that if you really want something in your life, then you should go and get it. I am thrilled and proud of Laurel and wish her all the best on her journey to New York and hopefully the rest of the world.
I found Laurel through her inspirational
fashion blog,
It’s Her Factory, full of dreamy photos, personal adventures, inspiring outfits put together by Laurel and lots, lots more. Find out more about Laurel at her
blog .
Laurel is wearing:
Express blazer
Vintage turtleneck sweater
Express zip leggings

Here is the interview:
1. Name, age, location.
Laurel Stovall, I’m 22 and currently reside in Reno, Nevada.
2. What do you do for a living?
At this moment, I’ll be going back to New York for modeling.
3. Your favorite decade in fashion?
My ultimate favorite decade in fashion would probably be the early 60’s. Women and men, alike were always dressed so incredibly chic and sophisticated. There was a sense of class then that a lot of decades have not quite seen so thoroughly since.
4. Where do you draw your inspirations from?
I would say that the majority of my inspiration comes from what I see in French street style with a combination of designers throughout each season. Parisian chic never gets old for me, its much more alluring than anything I find here in the states.
5. Favorite designers?
The big one for me has always been Yves Saint-Laurent. From YSL’s beginnings as a designer to now, with Stefano heading the house, you can still see that same inspiration that Yves himself would have created if he were alive today. Speaking of allure, YSL is most definitely a source of that grandeur Parisian chic.
6. Favorite shopping destination?
Zara. Easy on my pocketbook and everything fits me perfectly - perfect lengths and very timely, classic pieces.
7. What current trend are you loving the most?
I am really into the romantic-steampunk we’re seeing a lot this winter. Very dark and chunky, but maintaining clean lines we’re more likely to see in the Fall.
8. The style you most dislike?
Oh my, I’m a bit over seeing stores selling velour sweatsuits. That was a trend that should have died before it began.
9. Favorite shoe designer?
I have a few, definitely Balenciaga, YSL, Chloé, Givenchy….I could go on for ever!
10. Three words to describe your overall sense of style?
Straightforward, urbane, and (a bit) messy!
