the only reason i like leggings and why i wear it is because they are thicker than stockings and exposure protective in the winter when i wanna wear skirts XD

i would never wear leggings with any non-knee high boots...maybe i should try wearing thigh length leggings in the summer..since those long leggings are blah with flats

I wish leggings under skirts and dresses weren't considered a trend. To me, they are a summer staple, like t shirts. They prevent that awful sweating between the legs, and provide just enough coverage so that wearing a dress or skirt is as comfortable as wearing pants. Hopefully they won't look too passe come next spring and summer.

My problem with leggings is that they are so common that when I want to wear them, I just quickly change my mind because I don't want to be warped into the trend. I agree, for me, it's sometimes a necessity- whether it's because of the weather or the fact that I feel the outfit will simply look better with them.

First when this thing with leggings started appearing I found it quite quite and it made minis look more casual I think rather than revealing but now EVERYONE is doing this I find it really annoying and I just wish it would stop now, gettin sick of it...only to be tolerated on the best looking people who can pull this look off..or people who can get away with a more colourful look like purple or baby blue leggings.

It seemed like leggings/footless tights etc were on their way out but with the layering that is going to be really in come fall I think they are really gonna explode and be a bigger trend than ever...

Bazaar seems to be promoting them on every page of their July issue (with lindsay lohan on the cover)

I'm not sick of them yet, simply because they are so comfortable and I love layering... but there are definitely right and wrong ways to do it. I'm looking forward to coming up with more creative outfits and layers when the weather starts to cool off in the fall..

I have a one woman campaing about leggings as outerwear. I think they look cute with longer tops, especially if the top half is layered with say, tank tops, t-shirt and waistcoat.

I think loose silhuette is very important, otherwise the look is too sl*tty. oh and leggings can't be see-through!

Leggings are thicker than tights and usually end just below the knee.

my 2 cents on leggings/tights

I lived through half of the 90s , wearing tights/leggings with big bag sweaters and shirts and lot of woman did between 1989-1995. They were comfy , but at the same time it looked very very very tacky.I realized this when leggings dissappeared in 96 and for a good reason.
Also its classiness erodes very quickly due to the fact 1. you can get them for 5 dollars
2. They have this jerry springer guest addage to them
3. they dont create a favourable silhouette in most cases
4. worn with mini skirts ...unless your under 16 ... you end up looking like a hooker

I have yet to purshase a pack of leggings..I meant to some months back but I accidentally got tights. Maybe it was a sign lol
