Skirts and leggings sewn in are in style now. I saw at Walmart. They are SKEGGINGS. Skirt with internally sewn ankle legging. Could be worn with shorts for more fashionable look.

eleria, I think that the look is cute. personally I prefer shorter dress when I wear leggings. you want to show your knees, basically.:)
And I like your hairband very much!

thanks guys! and caffeine for liking my headband =) - normally i wear them with babydoll minidresses, just trying something new for one of my auctions. even though there's so much "controversy" or whatever over leggings i still think they're cute if done right...but i still see soo many girls wearing them with denim minis...sigh.

and that legging/skirt combination sounds really scary...

I have some good and bad to talk about here.

GOOD: I must say that there are some styles which I like with the leggings deal. One lady at my community college worn one of those pleated mini skirts. The mini wasn't denim, so that's good in my view. The leggings extended down to about halfway between the knee caps and the ankles. She worn a black top and black leggings (black leggings seem to be the most popular color, though I've seen white leggings once on TV. She paired the whole look with some cute flats. To me, she did it right while other ladies think they look hot with leggings. This look can be done best (at least to me) when you don't have any Goth/punk-style use of leggings. I still don't like leggings, but some can do it just right that I'll make exceptions.

Now the bad. Actually, I have three accounts of bad use of leggings. I'll note them in descending order (bottom to top). Best of the worst. You ready?

3.) I really don't like Gothic-style fashion all that much. The leggings seem to be part of the Goth look in addition to Converse-style sneakers. I think Vans sneakers are okay, only as long as you do it right and not look overdressed or pure punk. Denim mini skirts were key in this look for other ladies.

2.) One punk-style lady had worn short denim shorts, and then wore black leggings underneath them with Converse low-tops. It was purely a horrid look. I'm getting sick of denim skirts with leggings, but that look of leggings under denim shorts really means that layering really needs to get shot with a silver bullet.

1.) Finally, the worst leggings look I've ever seen. One lady had on this black shirt or top with a short denim skirt. The leggings extended to just past the knees. Instead of Converse sneakers or Vans sneakers (which I'm not too fond of), girl wore these tan cowboy (or "cowgirl" in her case) boots. So thanks a bunch- shows that not only the leggings need to have a wooden stake driven through its heart, but the cowgirl thing has to go as well.

I do credit the young lady who made the leggings look stylish and less like an overdressing job. I'm still very far from crediting ladies who wear these leggings under skirts. And PLEASE no leggings under shorts! Leggings under denim skirts can be ugly enough, but under denim shorts is even worse. I would still take stockings over leggings ANY day of the week if I was a lady. If it's cold and I have some warm stockings on, I just find some boots. Leggings are not (and shouldn't be) an all-year fashion. Gaucho pants/Culottes are, these leggings aren't. I'm sorry. I just don't really like them.

my friend always gets away with leggings with typical/weird combos. she just doesn't look like everyone else so it reflects on that.

This outfit is very hot...I am totally loving the boots

Anyhoo...right now I am into leggings that actually extend to the toes paired with ankle boots...I think that is just pure sexiness

Sexiness? I sincerely disagree. The dress and boots do look very nice, but I fail to find anything sexy or attractive about this look. Until I can find some lady who wears this look to absolute perfection, I still think there's nothing sexy or even comfortable with this look. Nothing to slap me in the face and rearrange my brain cells (the ones I have left) on my views on leggings has come to me yet.

Leggings have definitely become my secret guilty pleasure for this year! Especially leggings with tunics and dresses. I find they're good for slimming and elongating - because while I'm definitely small, weight-wise, I'm only 4'11 and so very compact. XD; They're so, so flattering.

Personally, though, when I wear them I tend to style myself with Audrey Hepburn in mind (more feminine and fitted - minimalistic at times. trying not to look too much like a beat poet wannabe, though :P) rather than some of the more Goth or scene looks. Although, honestly, I think I do tend to end up looking scene some of the time.

Oh, the difficulties. XD;

Obviously, you haven't met me...because the ankle boots and leggings look absolutely fabolous on me....

In Paris a lot of girls wear leggings under denim skirts.
And those shirt-dresses with belts at the waist and leggings.

Tres Chic

leggings are still going to be big in FW06/07 right?? Im thinking of getting a pair, but I'm worried they've been overdone.
