Leggings

I've viciously been on the offensive about leggings under skirts. I still don't recommend leggings under skirts (especially short ones), but I eased up on them in a slow process. I will say this, though- short skirt + leggings + ballet flats is a cute and acceptable look. Short jumper + leggings + ballt flats are very acceptable as well. Leggings + short skirt (to me) is more tolerable than leggings + shorts. I'm still tired of legging praising, but I don't hate them entirely.

I guess I'm starting to like sequin leggings after seeing some in pictures, like from Alexander McQueen or Alice + Olivia for Payless. However, I'm sure most will stick to regular opaque leggings.

Generally I much prefer tights to leggings as leggings make me look a bit stumpy since I'm short.. but I do love leggings..I just have to wear them with the right shoes ie never flats (I can never pull it off).

When I wear black leggings, I notice that when I sit down, the leggings are stretched so that they're not as opaque anymore and can slightly see my skin color of my legs. I usually wear long tunics with my leggings.
Does anyone else have this problem with black leggings? Or is there a brand that won't have this problem?

hmm I've got lots of different kinds of black leggings from different brads and never have that problem...

I think it may depends on the material the leggings are made from:unsure:

Here is a photo of two young women noticed in an outlet mall in Las Vegas last month.

Notice the tights and shorts. This is an asian style brought to USA.

I have a pair of black leggings from Topshop,so I guess they are mid-price range, and they do the same thing. I think though,in my case,it's that they are slightly too small for me. But I'm reluctant to get rid of them as I love them too much

I recently bought a navy pair and I'm hoping to get some purple ones next week. I really want grey ones but I can't find some anywhere

Yeah, in my previous post, I was referring to leggings I bought from H&M, but they aren't too small on me. So they are mid (low?) price range. Is there brand that makes better yet still affordable leggings?

I've got for example one pair of black satin leggings from H&M and I've got no such problems with them , I've got also really great cotton + lycra black ones from Cubus - the price was very low and they look just great

these are leggings from Cubus

so I think the problem is not with the brand but rather with material the leggings are made from...

daggi: LOVE the skirt and heels. where are those from?? :D

baglovineguine - the skirt is from Zara (summer 09) , heels are italian ones but I don't remember brand as I bought them a few years ago...

I'm not a fan of stirrup pants, but I'll make the exception for Post #828. I'd still rather go with at least tall-enough ankle boots than pumps if sporting stirrups. Cute shoes and skirt, might I add.

bought today these gorgeous ripped leggings :

the pic is mine

Thank You :flower: I'm glad that You like them

I bought them in Poland from small company that in general makes swimsuits and some time ago they decided to produce leggings too

You don't believe how low was the price  they cost about 11 euro... and on Ebay I saw such ripped leggings for over 100$

I like them. It's worn where I live with denim mini skirts, however my mum won't let me.. "it looks tarty" :S she doesn't understand anything...
