Armie Hammer: Leonardo DiCaprio's 'Hoover' Lover

The Social Network’s Armie Hammer has been cast to play Leonardo DiCaprio’s lover in Clint Eastwood’s upcoming film Hoover.

The 24-year-old actor will play Clyde Tolson, J. Edgar Hoover’s number two guy at the FBI and his secret lover, Deadline reports.

Also joining the film, which was written by Milk’s Dustin Lance Black, Charlize Theron.

She’s been offered the role of Helen Gandy, J. Edgar’s personal secretary who worked for him for more than 50 years, according to NYMag.

Leonardo DiCaprio Loves The Lakers

Leonardo DiCaprio enjoys a beer with a friend at the LA Lakers game on Tuesday (December 21) in Los Angeles.

The 36-year-old actor watched the Los Angeles Lakers lose to the Milwaukee Bucks 98-79 at the Staples Center. Leo’s BFF Lukas Haas and Entourage’s Kevin Connolly were also in the house sitting courtside!

Leo is 2010’s Top-Grossing Actors, with his movies making $1.1 billion at the global box office, reports Forbes. Two of his films, Shutter Island and Inception, were among the 15 highest-earning movies at the global box office. Inception managed to rank third with $825 million.

FYI: Leo was recently spotted lunching with friends at the Avalon Hotel’s Oliverio restaurant in Beverly Hills poolside.

Ed Westwick will play the role of Agent Smith in the upcoming biopic J. Edgar, which will star Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover, according to Deadline.

The 23-year-old Gossip Girl actor will play a clean cut operative with writing skill who Hoover hires to write his biography, until the agent gets a little too close to the truth.

Leo and Ed will be joined by the previously announced Armie Hammer as Hoover’s secret lover.

While Charlize Theron was rumored to join the cast, she dropped out and director Clint Eastwood is looking at Amy Adams and Naomi Watts for the role.

Armie Hammer (The Social Network), who plays Hoover’s Associate Director of the FBI and rumored lover, revealed that there are “a ton of kissing scenes” with DiCaprio.

“I actually just met [Leo] for the first time Saturday at the DGA Awards. Sure, we talked business,” Hammer told E!. “He’s a talented actor. I’m not nervous or afraid of it being awkward. The script is great. The scenes are in there for a reason. I’m really excited.”
