Leonardo DiCaprio

"China Film Group, the major importer of films shown in mainland China, told the American movie's Hong Kong distributor, Media Asia, that the Hollywood hit is unsuitable for Chinese audiences, though it gave no reason, said Media Asia marketing manager Chan Ka-li." - CBSnews.com

Not to ruin the movie - there's a brief scene in the movie to do with the Chinese government buying illegal weapons, I think that's what probably tipped the scale.

Also, the original Hong Kong movie on which "The Departed" is based on, "Infernal Affairs", was banned by mainland China in its original form. The directors were forced to change the ending (you'll see what I mean if you watch "Infernal Affairs") to pass the censors.

ms_prissy, thanks again for the wonderful pics. Man, he looks great!! He looks good in suits.

I don't know... I'm a sucker for white shirts. Get rid of the jacket and tie and we are sorted.

i loved him in blood diamond. scratch that--i love him in al his films. he makes really good career choices =]

Colour me uncultured, but all Scorsese films send me to sleep as a rule. That said I have seen neither the Aviator nor The Departed.

^Ok that IS the exception! Goodfellas rocks. But Raging Bull? Taxi Driver, Gangs Of New York? No thankyou.

Watch The Departed - I've not seen any of Scorcese's previous stuff other than the stuff Leo was in but the Departed is really good by any standards.

I agree with Gangs of New York though - I thought the movie was pretty (the direction and sets were beautiful) but it didn't all click together plus it was too long.

I agree that it was too long but other than that I loved the whole over the top, operatic tone of the story, the acting and the film in general

one of the best movies.
but u can t argue that Leo s an amazing actor no matter what movie he s in. Aviator, Blood Diamonds, Gangs of New York ,Catch me if you can. He s always done a great job

He doesn't age badly. Although he is in his early 30s.... let's wait for 60. I thought Redford would never age... but then he did :( At least there will always be All The President's Men or Indecent Proposal (can't believe those two films are on the same resume!) And there was that bloated period post Titanic, before the beach when all the papers were like 'chubby Leo'

He is too young for me in Romeo and Juliet. Though clearly when I watched it first he wasn't.
