Live Streaming S/S 14

I nearly fell for that too - no, no live stream, just a rerun after the show :( They did the same last season too.

I really don't understand... On catwalklive i click on Jeremy scott's link for streaming, then a page opens but no livestreming on it, just a video of backstage... Is it normal ? what do i have to do ?

I'm not watching Jeremy, but often there'll be backstage coverage before the show - the show's likely to be 30 minutes late. Hope it works for you.

BTW, Philosophy said it is live streaming at 9.30pm (CET) but the show has already happened - http://philosophy.albertaferretti.com/it/ - so it looks like it's a re-run! Unless I'm being stupid?

I'm probably not going to bother putting live streams on the site next season as it's too much drama. Hope you didn't miss any of the show.

I hope you're not offended... I didn't mean to criticize your website.. I think you're doing such a great job ! I check it everytime :)

It's really too bad because it would be so convenient to just watch the streams on your website (since I have it open all day anyway), but I can't seem to get them to work.
I also hate that they don't have the YouTube streams anymore; those were much better than the MBFW LIVE ones. I haven't been that happy with the livestreams this season yet, too many issues with most of them!

I think Youtube were very good, but the problem there was that they were obsessive over rights to the point even designers couldn't show their own collection on their own website. They also didn't show anywhere near the amount of shows the current provider does and only allowed highlights to be shown on demand (rather than full shows).

I'm not sure if people realise, but now Youtube don't do the live streaming, there are now about 25 more shows that live stream compared to when Youtube did the coverage.

Also, I believe most of the technical problems (eg, DVF, Carolina Herrera) weren't technical but rights-related whereby the designers decided at the last minute that they wanted to exclusively show the collection on their website.

I know there's been a few problems this season, but I think even with those, we've seen more live streams than ever before. I haven't had a problem with quality at all.

Someone said in the thread earlier that one designer's live stream (can't remember who) was brilliant and much better that MB Fashion Week, but comparing one live stream to around 85 isn't a fair comparison because out of those 85 unfortunately there will be the odd problem.

^It will be fine when the show starts. At least that's how it was last season.

^The CK stream was fine for me this time. I remember last season I didn't even get to watch the show because the stream made my computer freeze!

That's interesting, I didn't even notice that there were more streams this time since, I guess, a lot of them didn't seem like they would be worth watching. Whereas I did notice some designers whose livestreams I always enjoyed have not been streaming anymore.

But I get what you're saying regarding YouTube and the licensing problems and how that had a negative effect on live coverage in general. But I still think the quality of the streams on there was better (especially the audio) and it seemed more reliable in general, so I definitely miss the YouTube streams. I think the NYFW livestreaming can still be improved on many levels, I hope they can sort out some things until next season.

the only thing that annoys me is that they put music over the top that isnt used in the show

Marc Jacobs isn't working for me again. Both his site and style.com won't give me a steady stream for more than a few seconds when I play them.
