^^I love how textured Liya's hair was styled

Rhoda, a 20-year-old from Chevy Chase, Md., joins a long line of faces who became ubiquitous on billboards, commercials and beauty counters the world over, thanks to the cosmetic giant. Karen Graham was its first contract model, and she lasted 15 years (this before retouching). In the 1990s, the brand made Paulina Porizkova one of the most famous faces on the planet. It also launched the modeling career of Elizabeth Hurley, who, at the time, was known primarily for being Hugh Grant's girlfriend. Next came supermodels Carolyn Murphy and Liya Kibede (who is being phased out this year).

What do you mean there's no place for black models in fashion and cosmetic brands? I think that the places for african american models should be made in these industries. I may have interpeted your words wrong but the way you just put that is offensive to african american women.

After re-reading my post, i admit that it sounds pretty harsh but there's no point in sugar-coating the truth is there?![]()

) but I will state that the situation is sad and just plain frustrating.Wow. That's severely disappointing.Wow. That's severely disappointing.
But you know, Estee Lauder never really gave Liya a position of prominence. They may have just wanted her as their "token black woman" because they'd entered the 21st century and still hadn't given a contract to a black woman.
I hope Liya finds something else that will give her the recognition she deserves.

I'm at a loss for words...
Liya is a gorgeous angel...
