Loewe S/S 2023 Paris

Anthuriums are having a little bit of a moment. Good for her.

This was repetitious to such an extreme degree. Watching the stream I didn't know when it was going to end. There are some nice things, but it all felt so stiff and so "art school avant garde" that I couldn't but think what is the point? It is just clothes at the end of the day, but when you see that same thing five times over with very little deviation it's pretty easy to ask yourself that.

Are you a fan of the Cocteau Twins?

Haha it was fun. Some nice ideas. well, his collections are always a little repetitive, so im not surprised about that. But one thing I didn't like is the fit of those very short dresses, it's an awkward cut, a bit of a waist would make it look less boxy

I think this collection is much better than the last winter one, at least there is a focus and the message is clear. That's why I really liked the show, it felt much more grounded and actually engaging. Let's see how it develops, but in my opinion, it's a proof that Anderson is comfortable at Loewe, what is rare nowadays.

I didn’t enjoy it, too much repetition to the point that halfway through you’ve seen everything twice already.

He is always bound to show some good wearable pieces (the knit mini-dresses, the cropped parkas with boxy pockets, the really short babydolls) but the experiments fall flat with the exception of the resin bodices and the dresses with a flower in the breast. The chol0 pants with that weird breastplate, the Minecraft looking outfits and those strange shoes were all so lousy and uninspired.

This no doubt is one of my favorites of the season. Jonathan always delivered at Loewe.

He always finds the perfect balance between fashion elements and easy commercial pieces.

I love those anthurium dresses, they are editorial gold.
I'm also obsessed with pixelated looks. They look so fun.
The evening gowns with the bows add a nice touch of sophistication to the collection.
And so many good outerwears.
Cute bags and good shoes, add some sense of humor to the collection.

Loewe and Jonathan never let me down.

I love it ! I am biased because I am a die hard fan of Loewe haha.

My only issue is they could have edited more : either you show the look in grey or yellow not both. Feels quickly repetitive otherwise.

Look 6 is a little Lacoste meets Alaïa. In a good way.

The "pixellated" looks are so convincing, wtf.

Those leather dresses look good in motion! Haven't had the chance to watch the whole collection yet, but I like that it feels less surrealist than the past few seasons. There are some great pieces. Very repetitive indeed, though.

I usually lean towards not getting Loewe or liking it, but this is a nice collection. It’s very repetitive and wish for at least some differentiators on different looks besides colour, but overall is was fun to look at.

This is costume design, not fashion design.

Remember when Anderson's Loewe used to be sensual, quirky and on point ?

This SS23 collection looks like a BA collection from CSM. Very basic "LOOOOOK AT MEEEEEEEEEEEEE" fashiuuuun pretending to be intellectual.

I actually found this a lot tamer than his usual offerings. The outerwears, in particular, are quite pragmatic. The pixelated looks are interesting in photographs but I don’t really get the same remarkability in motion. I agree with how tiresome the repetition is. For instance, the dresses with the bow around the waist area don’t need to be presented with three different colors. He could’ve done the same silhouette but maybe experiment more with the cut-outs or the bow placement.

^^ it is 'look at me, I'm into fAsHiOn!!' but not sure it's trying to be intellectual at all, and for that I applaud him...

I'm going to blame all the filthiness and absolute repulsion I felt by just watching 3-4 collections from New York but this just.. feels.. so.. CLEAAAAN. Like actually, 'doesn't smell like old sweat and genitals' c.l.e.a.n., with oxygen, not stuffy, crisp, sorbet-ish (when well made), and who could be cold-hearted enough to not smile at this? lol, I think that light sense of humor and creativity without being so smug and starved to be recognized as a genius is missing in the industry. I know this guy receives enough praise and probably doesn't need more and I certainly have never been interested enough to even name his past achievements haha, but I do appreciate the nice spot he's in where he manages to make this whole charade called fashion week be something that you can still enjoy following and makes you excited about little things like colors, playing with textiles, etc.

Disappointment. Gimmick galore. He should keep it for his namesake.
I actually don't want Loewe to be fun or funny. I want it to be chic.
Chic is what we really miss in fashion.
