Loewe S/S 2024 Paris

This may not be my favorite season of his work, both for JW Anderson and Loewe. I found most looks far from exciting, color scheme somewhat off when viewed altogether and especially the length shorts could be a rather problematic look on most people. Same for the high waisted trousers.
It was immediately clear which few more special looks were put in mostly for the editorial coverage.

Having said that, even when he's not at his best, Jonathan is still proposing more interesting collections than the majority of all other designers.
I think his Loewe is doing extremely well? The shows and production, and whole celebrity/influencer circus seems to get bigger and bigger.

Not as good as what he showed on his own brand but still some great pieces and the knitwear are good!
I was hoping to see something more in line with the menswear. The glittery embellishment, the texture of the suedes and denim, there was a sense of purity in there and im not getting that in here.

I thought this was lovely - presentation, set design, soundtrack, styling, and all. One of the few shows to give off Fashion with a capital F. The way he played with androgyny was clever - looks 20, 21, and 45 in particular are perfect examples of that. A lot of jewelry in this collection and some was highlighted in the slow motion shots; I wonder if LVMH is going to start pushing Loewe jewelry more.

Jonathan is becoming the male equivalent of Miuccia, since I now look forward to seeing what we wears when he takes his bow at the end of his shows (even if it's not my style/something I could pull off, his personal style has become quite charming).

Repetitive as hell. The same look in differents colours and fabrics over and over and over.

Never been a fan of this guy. And I never will be.

I love a high waist pant, but?? As shown here....there a bit too high. The waist of the pant is too near the breast line. They may "look" great....but as far as practicality?? Good luck trying to bend over?? The extremely chunky knits are gorgeous....they're almost like cocoons that envelop the body. The red version is ❤. The long leather coats are beautiful.. but....I'm trying to figure out the necessity of folding 1/2 the coat upwards upon itself.

Love the surrealist pant silhouette, and that’s about it.
I can see he doesn’t want to compete with the bottega intellectualisms and he is spanning to the anti aesthetic territory he radicate JWA into.
Not sure what to think, smart? Pretentious? Or just trolling? Either way feels like I am digging to hard to find a purpose to a collection that sincerely doesn’t deserve all the time I am dedicating to it.
Bye!

He is obviously intentionally doing mundane verging on normcore; He is being creatively conservative. It was kind of boring, but I think that was he's point. I appreciate it as a statement, because he knows than concept goes beyond the actual garments, and that's why he's one of the greats.
I do miss the bourgeoisie gallery owner, I won't lie, but what he's showing now is probably what she is going to wear.

The higher the waist line, the closer to God.

It's empire line.

he loves to walk a line, like any other great designer should.

loved this show, the knit with the gold button and that bag they are trying to push is really gorgeous. loved the variation of it in gold. the shoes are gorgeous too.

playful is the word...
love the upper pockets in the blazers
and those hugely oversized sweaters

Lol....your quote is more akin to platform shoes. The higher the shoe....the closer to God. Platform shoes have been around since midevil times. Brides wore them under their wedding gown when standing at the alter. Hense...the higher the shoes...the closer to God.
