London College of Fashion

I'm interested in applying to LCF but I don't know which courses to take.
I want to be a stylist... I guess I'm just a little confused.

I think you can do an undergraduate foundation degree in fashion styling and photography.

^ oh ok thanks. Has anyone taken that course - fashion styling and photography?

It's pretty expensive, so I think I am going to find a summer course and see how I like that first.

anyone here taken fashion marketing? cause i am interested in taking that course

I've just been invited for a test & possible interview for BA Fashion PR... nervous as heck. Also applied for Fashuion journalism and fashion marketing there, PR is my second choice but haven't heard about the other two.

anyone else heard anything?

that's what i applied to. ^_^ yeah it's expensive but i live (kind of) near london so i'm living at home which will cut down the cost hugely.

I have an interview for PR too on 18th, I'm guessing yours is the same? I've applied for fashion journalism too and management but have heard nothing form the other two. I heard some people have interviews for fashion management so I'm really worried :S and absolutely sooooooooo nervous for PR test/ interview! what's your first choice?? x

Hey All,
I'm going to be applying for Foundation of Fashion Buying and merchandising for 2010. I'm currently studying a commerce degree in Australia, majoring in Economics, minoring in Marketing which I'm due to finish in a year! I'm a UK national, moved to Australia when I was 13, and will be 21 when I apply, which unfortunately means I will have to apply as an international :( as I have not been living in the UK for the 3 years before I apply!
Just wondering if the fact I will already have an undergraduate degree affect my chances of getting into the course? I really hope not! (Sorry if this has already been covered - I have read the whole thread and couldn't find anything!)

Any tips/information on intervies/applying anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you already have a degree you should be able to get into an MA rather than a foundation course. Foundation is lower then a degree. I'm sure LCF do an MA in Buying.

Yeah I've looked at that and they require a few years industry experience which I won't have as I will have just graduated. I thought since I already would have a business degree, the foundation degree would be enough to get my foot in the door for a job in buying. I also thought applying for the foundation would be slightly easier to get into since I've heard LCF is extremely difficult?

hey! i'm having my ba interview at central saint martins for womenswear next week. im sooo scared. The thing is I have some very talentend "enemies" and they're only giving like 1 or 2 places in compact interviews and I may have to think of a plan B. What about the womenswear BA in LCF? My fashion is quite conceptual and out of the box but with crazy stuff always... they said to me in CSM that LCF doesn't like that, they said to me that they r... more classic...

ANY IDEA OF ANYONE STUDYING THERE? is that true?¿

It's true, I feel like I am not going to get in to the foundation because even though I have three A Levels at good grades, people who have already done some sort of higher education will get in ahead of me  guess it's better to aim low

I'm thinking about applying for the HE Diploma in Fashion Media and Communication but I still have some doubts
Is someone studying this course or now something about it???

Hi good midday!

I have already applied to LCF, and I am a bit nervous as I have an interview in some weeks. I was wondering if anyone knows what the math tests are like, or what kind of questions are asked on the group interviews

Would also appreciate any advice! Thank you.

Im on my first year on BA Fashion Management at LCF, i had to do a maths and an english test last year and i remember being really scared as i hadnt done maths in two years but it was so simple, mainly ratios and multiplications, nothing to worry about! :D

not necessarily 'classic' but they do give more emphasis on the making of the clothes, the craftsmanship, than the idea itself i suppose. CSM is ALL about being crazy and creative and more of a 'learn it in your own time' attitude so if you feel confident that your work is that way then that would probably be your best choice ;)

(btw i don't do womenswear, i'm in journalism but it's sort of a common knowledge i think!!)

Did u do the english test??...if so what did it consist of, i'm not worried about maths...but the english test.......for some reason I am....dnt know why since its my first language...but i'm a tad paranoid....

So I have heard, but I have my full refund and I deserve it. Individuals who do not have a degree should not be teaching at a BA level, nevermind an MA level and they should not be telling their students where to buy cocaine! To be honest, they did not have a leg to stand on with all the problems that had occured with the course. My refund has not come as a shock, but expected. I am sure other individuals would love to know about such unprofessional teaching from a 'prestigious' institution.

wow, was it that bad? I was expecting to get there next course...

It is basic grammar, they have sentences and you have to chose which is the right word to go in, it is honestly so simple, the tests are the easy part!!

i have an interview on 23rd for Access to HE, Fashion Media and Communication. anyone else applied?? :)
