Swash for 1.2.3 with the Hye`res festival
After Sandrina Fasoli, Laurent Edmond, and Richard Rene´, 1.2.3 reinforce their collaboration
with the designers awarded at the Hye`res festival, through the refreshing production of nipponenglish
duo Swash.
The result: a funny mix-up of ideas with that British humor touch.
Oversize t-shirts, big and mini capes to button up together (an adult and a child…), variable
geometry dresses, jodhpur style trousers cut for scooter riding, it is a whole panoply, witty and
free, full of that incredible pop energy that only the English have.
One will not be surprised that this collection is so close, in spirit but also in shape, to the one
prized in Hye`res. This proves well that it is possible, if not to reduce it, to cross the infamous
gap that is supposed to exist between pure fashion and industry.
The Swash collection, winner at the 19th Hye`res Festival arrives mid-February in approximately
fifteen 1.2.3 stores in France and Belgium.
This collaboration is an exchange, within which the designers, confronted to the reality of the
market, see their work produced and distributed at affordable prices. On their behalf, 1.2.3 are
proud to elaborate a new fashion proposition, combining the product aspects to the avantgarde
spirit that follows the best young international fashion creation. Throughout this operation,
the Festival achieves its goal which is not only to promote fashion design, but also to follow
fashion designers at all the stages of their development, until the necessary experience of
the industrial process which leads to the market.
The photographs were taken by Luciana Val & Franco Musso, winners at the 19th edition of the
Hye`res Festival.
Who does what?
The Hye`res Festival
Since 1986, the International Festival of Fashion and Photography plays a leading role in identifying
and promoting the very best international fashion creation. Each year, about ten designers
show for the first time their own collection in the professional conditions put together by
the Festival. Viktor&Rolf, Xavier Delcour, Gaspard Yurkievich, Alexandre Matthieu, Christian
Wijnants and many others have been discovered in the context of that festival, a real meeting
point for the profession.
