Luminous, Dewy and Healthy Looking Makeup

I use a little bit of rose hip oil on top of my cheekbones as a dewy highlight to achieve a natural dewy glow. I'm extremely anti-shimmer as it contradicts that natural finish I'm usually after. Not only is this a cheap alternative to most products out there, but by using rose hip oil, it helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles which is always a benefit. It's also very light and spreads on very smoothly (unlike evening primrose oil or vitamin E). Oh and it doesn't clog pores - given that you aren't pouring it all over your face!

Oh, I want to to try the rose hip oil, as long as it's not too sticky. Would I find it at a health food/products store?

You should be able to find it at all health food shops and good chemists. Rose hip oil is completely natural and therefore great for your skin. It's surprisingly not sticky at all and quite light. Your skin will absorb most of it - which is a good thing! Just be very selective where you put it on your face. x

I highly recommend using MAC strobe cream, then applying NARS multiple stick that suits your skin tone...it gives an instant glow...

i bought a mac cream colour base in pearl which is a lovely and subtle highlighter

I find that Becca Lip&Cheek Creme gives a nice glow even though there is no shimmer in it

that sounds interesting...is it a whitish pearl or a gold pearl (or neither lol)? I'm really yellow toned and pink/white highlighters look really wrong on me

sojou - mac calls it a 'soft pale gold with icy shimmer'. this is a pic of mine, which is a pretty close match to how it looks in real life.

Whats a product that works well with Bare Mineral foundations?
Ive tried Benefit moon beam,Estee Lauder's spotlight, and the mineral veil and all of them get lost under the foundation and dont have that luminous look.

This isn't really makeup, but I find that when I mix a few drops of jojoba oil into my moisturizer, my skin looks more smooth and dewy/glowy. It doesn't make my skin look or feel greasy at all.

^It looks way too cakey if I put it over the powder, but Ill try the Jojoba oil. Thanks

Of course it will look cakey!!!! You are topping highlighter on a face with foundation and powder, what did you expect?! :p

Put your foundation, then a bit of highlighter on the cheeks, or where you want the light to reflect and wither forget the powder, or use just a bit on the t zone and only if your skin is oily.
Powder kills all the dewiness in the face.

^Lol!
I use the Bare Minerals "foundation" powder. So Im not putting any liquid foundation on, its just the mineral powder, but the highlighter still looks cakey. I think it works better if you use liquid foundation, but I really like this Bare Minerals stuff.

But I think the oil thing will do the trick. :flower:

If you're using BM for your foundation try a mineral highlighter. I've got You Glow Girl from http://pureluxecosmetics.com and it works great for a highlighter and it's a mineral powder. So you won't end up with the cakey look. (it's also cheap you can get a sample for 1$)

Anyone has some advice how to get healthy looking glow on my face and cover little spots up without using too much make up

I dont use foundation etc.. justbecause i dont like it, so does anyone has some tips?
