Some of the shots in this Elle France edit has since been released as campaign images. So the original source is Lancôme without a doubt. After all, Alexi shoots for the brand and he's done a few of Lupita's campaigns. Lancôme is without a doubt the most dominant when it comes to this smoke and mirrors approach to advertising. Last year alone they must've sold two cover images with Kate Winslet and Lily Collins to British Marie Claire. That's in addition to a 'beauty supplement' featuring Lupita on the cover, and a beauty story with Daria. And this year of course UK Harper's had Kate Winslet and Lupita. While the Harper's edits were commisioned by the mag, they of course wore make up from the brand. So you see, the modus opdrandi isnt much different to Kristen S and Gisele booking covers wearing only Chanel etc, but with the beauty brands its less apparrent as you cannot identify the products with the naked eye.
