Makeovers...

 cuff yourself to the treadmill!! hahahaa I'm scared of treadmills ever since I slipped on one and was thrown off of it and had these horrible rug burn type marks on my legs for weeks!!

Yes!! I need a makeover.
-work out a ton, not treadmill though! elliptical trainer for a while then add in weights for resistance.
-eat healthy, possibly gradually become a vegan.
-care more about my appearance and dress better/more stylishly

In the middle of a makeover

I have lost 20 pounds over the past three months. (South Beach diet, fairly regular exercise, and a husband who is doing it with me and is very competitive!) I still want to lose more weight but in the meantime:

1. Got highlights for the first time ever.
2. Got a really good haircut for the first time ever (I have very thick, coarse hair and I always get compliments on it but it is difficult to control).
3. I have been shopping sporadically since I don't want to buy too much as I'd still like to go down two or three more sizes, but I've been studying the magazines and then buying either low-end alternatives to high-end stuff I like for trendy items (ie the Look for Less), or buying deeply discounted "good stuff" that I can either still wear (ie shoes) or have easily altered.

Next on the list while still losing weight I want to:

Try the recommendations in "The Skin Type Solution"
Get new contacts and glasses

My big treat if I make my goal weight may be Lasix eye surgery.

I am a few years shy of my 40th birthday and I finally realized the great thing about this is I can now afford (most of) the stuff I want if I shop carefully.

India (my first post ever, hope this is okay)

It's also my first post!
I always want to give myself a big makeover (a la Nicole Richie) but there's so much to do! I never seem to be able to go the whole way, does anyone have any ideas to help me?

ummm. not really... except that im considering to either get extensions or cut it short. i'd like to pull a stunt to shock people around me. so, i'd rather get a pixie-cut. would it look too childlish though?
hmmm

i'm mid-way through my semi-makeover:

keep a consistent hair color: it's naturally an ash/blonde color, but i've been dying it brown or black forever. i'm gonna stick with a nice deep brown (almost black shade) for the entire summer/fall.

wear more fitted clothing: i buy stuff that doesnt fit me properly all the time just because i like how it looks on the rack (but never really looked good on me).

get a tan!

buy nice shoes for a change.

wear less t-shirts. stop being afraid of buttons.

lose 15 pounds, but replace it with muscle. i like the slim muscular "i'm in fight club" look.

I'm going to start wearing skirts and dresses more. Not a very radical change but it's still a change ^_^ .

And I want a hair do cause now it just hangs (my hair, that is)

Hmm, yeah. I need a makeover.

I should start working on it today, I want to look my best for when I head to HK. Soo...

I need to lose like 40 pounds O.O That probably won'thappen by July. But hey, I have lost 10 so far.

And my hair needs a major makeover.I don't even know what to do with it anymore *sigh*

And my wardrobe, I just want to throw everything out and go on a big ole shopping spree -.-

And I need to learn how to apply makeup! I am so inept at it.

I'm in the process of a mini makeover. I've always loved fashion but when I was doing my undergraduate degree I wore yoga pants every single day for 4 years. Literally I only dressed up for going out to dinner or going to the bar (well I did that three times a week at least :) )
This year I've focused on buying nicer casual clothes, and I want to continue doing so. I would also like to lose 5 lbs this summer. My body never wants to lose weight so this will take me about 2 months of working out to do. Just in time for bikini season!

yes, im undergoing a mini-make over this year, i was in the UK over christmas and January, so i started it then by changing my dress style a little by picking up a few key pieces here and there to work into what i already have and what i plan to buy in the future. i also gained a few kg whilst away, so i want to lose that (i'm halfway there ^_^ ).

i have had short flippy haircuts for the last three years so i'm trying to grow my hair and see how it works out. my final change is my make-up/skin care, i've always been very casual about moisturisers - as long as they were fragrance free with SPF15 i didn't care too much, but now i'm 25 i figure prevention is better than cure, so i'm spending a little more on my skin care routine and i've started to put more time into my concealer/foundation and i'm learning how to use blush! see you CAN teach an old dog new tricks :winkiss:

faily modest make-over - the real changes i'm making are to do with career and personal goals :flower:

i'm also starting my own makeover. because i'll propably start university next fall, i need to look good :D

-new wardrobe
-new hairstyle (at the moment growing out of bangs.. hate it)
-losing 20 kg
-eating more healthier

now i just need to actually do all this and i should be well off. losing weight is my keytarget at the moment

I've been doing mini steps to an overall changed me.

* I have lost 5 pounds...planning more, but its a great start. I just need to take care of weight and eating the right foods because I have some health problems.
* The way I've been doing my makeup is different. Subtle eyes, brighter lips. Before I would leave the lips fairly minimal and dramatic eyes. And I've tried something I thought I'd never do...just natural all around. I never liked my face looking "bare" before.
* I have had my hair rebonded (permanently straightened) last year and my hair has gotten so long, but lost its shape. I have a hair appointment for next weekend.

I want to:

- Dress nicer - I obsess over pretty clothes and occasionally buy them but never wear them, I always wear jeans and a tshirt out of laziness :(

- Eat healthier - I need to stop eating the fattiest thing I find. My arteries will hate me later.

- Cut my hair - I've been too lazy to for the past 7 or so months

- Study harder - I'm so easily distracted. I need to focus on m studies again.

Wow, so many newcomers! Welcome to Miu Miu, India and Mingming!
:flower:

Inspiring thread...so good to see everyone working towards goals.

Thanks for the welcome Melisande!
Things I need to work on....there's plenty to do!
- my hair, I like it long and straight, but to add more interest, I'd like to build up a long sweeping fringe on one side. Also maybe go just a few shades darker to make it more dynamic, I'm very pale so I can't go too dark.
- my skin...I work very hard on my face, but not so much on my body. I need to moisturize like crazy so I don't feel too bad in summer!
- I'd like to tone up a bit more, particularly my upper arms, stomach and legs...ok that's basically my whole body but, you guys know what I mean!
- I need to study harder, a final push before finals to really get the results I want
- clothes wise, i want to cultivate a classic pretty parisian chic...buying a few carefully selected classic pieces but with a few whimsical fun items. So, within this look, my aim is if I was wearing quite a simple outfit of black capris and a simple sweater, to wear fun shoes or a headscarf or something.

First post here!

I know it's almost summer 06, but I still long for a makeover... I want to go brunette again (my hair is a dirty blonde with highlights at the moment, like 99% of norwegian women - boring and I suspect it makes me look really washed out actually), but I think it will have to wait until autumn. If I still want it then, I'll go for it!

I also need to get better at doing 2nd hand/vintage shopping, as nearly all my clothes are inexpensive H&M-stuff that is far from unique. I'm so sick and tired of buying something that I like, only to find it almost disintegrating after a few washes. :(

I'd really like to get a warderobe that is inspiring, not brimful of stuff I have bought on impulse or boring, plain black longsleeves. :innocent:

either size 5 or 120... whatever comes first... ^^
dye hair a radiant red w/ blonde streaks
hair like a brittany murphy style.... sideswept bangs + long layers (about mid-back)
tone arms, stomach and legs
double eyelid and nose surgery (plastic surgery) lil worried on the nose... >.<
go to a dermatologist to achieve flawless skin
emo glasses
blue or grey contacts
^^

Since starting the thread, I have not really done too much. I was severely underweight in February and made myself gain 10 pounds, which was a nice start (and fun too!). I am really bored with my hair though. I have been trying to grow it long and my stylist will not cut it short, but I  Kelly Ripa's new hair do and since people tell me I look like her, I think it would look cute on me too. We'll see... I need to get nicer clothes too. I sort of strayed off the path I want to be on style-wise.

Yes I am:

-I want to Change my hair style. I already cut it but now I need to change the color a bit, nothing too drastic.

-Loose all the weight I gained in my first semester. Bah freshman 15 :(:( maybe loose a bit more

-Clean my closet and Donate all the clothes I dont like/Use anymore

Help! I need a makeover

Hopefully this is the right place for my post.
I am a second-year university student, but I saw myself in the mirror today and realized that I look like a frumpy twelve-year-old.
I am very very pale (sometimes I worry that I look sickly) with frizzy/wavy blonde hair, and my body tends to be a little heavy.
I try to compensate for this by wearing a lot of concealer around my eyes and by wearing loose, dark, and boring clothes. Because I have a roundish face, I look kind of young, and so I just feel ridiculous with the concealer and old-lady clothes.
I'm in such a rut, and I long to be pretty, only I don't know how. I was hoping that you all could give me advice about flattering clothes that aren't frumpy, makeup that suits pale people, or just makeover advice in general.
Thank you, and I appreciate any help so so much.

im sure you’re gorgeous, you just need to know how to show off your assets! You should cherish your pale skin, it sets you apart from the all of the too tanned girlies of the current generation! With your makeup, perhaps you could go to makeup counter and learn what looks good on you , you could try maybe a light peachy blush which could flatter your complexion nicely such as benefit dandelion, and a girly soft pink lippie .

if you’re feeling adventurous a bright red lipstick with a nude face is a fail proof way to look and feel hot, just make sure you find the right shade to go with your skin tone! A little bit of black mascara would also enhance your eyes and bring them out, especially with your pale skin. But don’t go with anything too garish or outrageous, such as teaming a bright pink blush with purple eyeshadow etc. remember makeup should make you feel good about yourself not uncomfortable!

With clothes pick your best asset and flaunt it girl! show off nice calves with flouncy skirts that sit just on the knee, flatter your bust and waist by wearing wrap dresses or v neck jumpers with a waist belt to give yourself more shape, and a good cover up is to wear a well fitted trench coat. jazz up your outfits with bright and quirky accessories, maybe some big plastic bracelets, colourful shoes or a pink quilted handbag!

Probably for uni and everyday wear you could wear a pair of mid rise dark straight legged jeans,(to flatter your legs) a pretty cami with a belted cardigan and maybe some flats or boots.you could also team a suit jacket/blazer with jeans for a more formal look, or wear some man style pants to slim down your legs. Think elegant, girly but fun! Here are some examples of versatile outfits I love, and don’t follow trends, remember you’re dressing for you, not anyone else n don’t be afraid to expiriment! Hope this helps!
