How to find the perfect summer dress for you?

I'm writing an article for my school's paper on how to find the perfect summer dress. I'm researching, looking through some magazines, skimming through some forums, but I thought it would be a great idea to post a thread on this. I'm thinking about including these factors: skin tone (colors that would go well to make your skin), size (fit and shape for body types), where (what stores) and any other tips/idea of sorts. If you have any suggestions and can help me, it would be greatly appreciated =). Thanks!

If it's for the school paper you might just want to keep it simple. Six perfect dresses for six different personalities. Why they're good choices and where you can find them. Include a cheap and a not-so-cheap option for each set. Colors, cuts and other factors will all be included under each "personal style" section.

I don't think I'm getting it this spring anyway. I might find something similar, there should be many shirtdresses like this around
