I dont know if this has already been asked, but I dont have time to read this entire thread. I am medium-dark tone maybe a shade darker than Halle Berry anyone know what colour blush would suit my skin tone- from like Nars or Mac? any reccomendations would be great tia!

^^^

I like Lovejoy from Nars. Its sort of a brown/copper/gold. It depends on what shades you like though. I am about your color (I think) and that works really well.

For something more berry, I love Chanel Fantasia. Its more like a pink/berry bronzer with iridescence but it doesn’t scream unless you apply with a heavy hand. I tend to like blushes that is not obvious.

^thanks very much- I will prob try the Chanel as I like a berry shade.

For reference Im an NC 43, with dark olive skin one to two shades darker than Thandie Newton, and jet-black hair :)

High end brands have consistently failed to match my skin (foundations.concealers), so Im sticking to what works, I have not yet tried Becca, Prescriptives or Makeup Forever, but till then:

Currently Im using Iman's second to none stick foundation in Clay 1. The color is a little darker than my face but blends perfectly. Beautiful coverage and dry consistency (I live in the tropic so dry is a good thing).

For concealer I use Clinique's Line Smoothing concealer in Medium Honey (09). Every other concealer I've tried doesn't even come close to blending with my skin tone. This one works and as long as you know how to apply it properly, it won't crease.

For blush I love:

Covergirl's Cheekers in Rock N Rose (very natural)
Mac's Bronzing Powder in refined Golden
Wet n Wild's Mega Glo iluminating powder in Starlight Bronze (for when I want lots of shimmer to contour)

I like pale lips that stand out, so my favorite lipstick right now:
Wet n Wild's Mega colors lipstick in Pure sky (its like a violet medium beige that translates to nude in my lip; I love that is not a pale beigy pink like the rest of the nudes I've tried)
Also from Wet n Wild, Cafe out Lait (because its pale, shimmery and glows in the dark, not very natural though)

Eyeliner:
My staple has to be Clinique's Cream liner in True Black. Smooth, jet black, doesn't budge nor smudge, easy to remove, perfect for inner rims, love it. Blacktrack from MAc is great too, but I like this better.

Hope this helps someone, because I KNOW its hell to find shades to suit mixed ethnicity, black and indian gals ;)

I bought two nice lipsticks from LORAC the other day. One is called "Julia" and the other is "Soul Sister." Soul Sister is a brownish color and Julia is like coral for people with dark skin if you can imagine that. Both work if you are a Armani #11 or MAC NC45 like me, they give a nudish with a hint of color look that is really nice.

thanks a million PROPANE,
i was nc 43 too just bought the iman stick foundation in clay 1 and its my shade
we must have the exact same skin color bc its a little dark for me but it blends well. and its cheap!
so THANKYOU!

A seller at Sephora told me a couple of weeks ago that the Iman make-up line would be discontinued in France.

She even said that it was already the case in the US.

Sad news.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I just wanted to thank most of you ladies in this thread. In my lurking days I was in such a makeup rut and using what I knew which at the time, which was Mac studio foundation. I have pretty good skin and that stuff was sitting on my skin like powdered paint. So after reading through this thread I headed down to Selfridges and hit up the Armani counter. Amazing amazing amazing. LSF melts in my pores and leaves me glowing. The bronzer is flawless as well and I never thought someone of my skin tone could wear bronzer. So once again thank you ladies.

Marchessa, welcome to the Armani LSF converts!

I like the pencil concealers that MAC puts out but I recently bought one (cream) by Vincent Longo that is pretty nice too. It was 75% off at Sephora.

I use Make-up For Ever concealer, it's my first one but I like it, it's liquid. I also buy it at Sephora.

I used to be all "natural" but now I have to use some makeup!

i use becca's compact concealer...
there are two shades inside that you can mix to achieve the coverage you want...

Thank you for all the suggestions.:flower:

I've decided on Stila cream undereye concealer in the tube. I didn't need one for the entire face. The shade is l.
I tried Makeup Forever's but I don't know maybe my skin was oily that day or something  but I didn't like it when I compared it to the Stila.

Does anyone know home remedies for undereye bags? Mine are a tad hereditary and I know adequate sleep should cover it but I'd like suggestions I can buy :p

i'm in search of a really great eyebrow pencil!!!
my eyebrows tend to grow out really weirdly, so i pluck them alot and i ALWAYS manage to overpluck and look like a chola girl...so i need a good pencil to fill them out when i overpluck and to kind of shape them...:D
i know Anastasia is supposed to be the best brand but i only saw blonde/brunette pencil shades. i think the brown would be to light as i recently dyed my hair jet black and would need the brows to match...
any suggestions would be appreciated :)

I think you should try a brown pencil or a smoky powder. I think jet black brows defined with black pencil can look too heavy on most women. A lighter color makes the brows look more natural and less Sharpie IMO.

I bought a dark brown brow wax from Lorac while back and really like it and I've also gotten regular old Loreal brow pencils from the drugstore and been pleased with the results.

I have a Sephora (dark brown) brow pencil, it's okay.
