MARC by Marc Jacobs bags (November 2005 - November 2010)

Just a silly question that I dunno where to post... The bags that give you at Marc Jacobs when you buy something... Can they be black? I mean, I've seen the bags (paper ones) with the blackground white and the letters in black. But I bought a mirror and a pen-lipstick in eBay and they gave me a Marc Jacobs paper bag with the blackground in black. Is that fake? TIA

I feel so let down.... lol I had finally found a bag that I wanted to purchase for spring/summer and I fell in love with the Hillier Hobo in cream and I called Holts and it's all sold out in North American... So the SA says lol. UGh bummer.

Has anyone seen this smaller Posh Turnlock Dot bag, in person, anywhere? I've seen the larger version in Barneys for $598. I love the style, but the larger version is carry-on size. I don't have the dimensions for it, so I wanted to know how much smaller this one is before I buy it...

I saw this bag IRL not too long ago and I found it quite big! It's much bigger than the Teri, a bit smaller than the Huge Hillier Hobo (larger size). Hope that helps!

Yes, it does. Thanks! So, I guess there's only one size, but I wonder why it's $100 more everywhere else. Anyway, it's too large to carry daily, but it would make a gorgeous carry-on!

^ i've been trying to hunt these down as well... i fell in love with them after seeing the runway pics and i haven't been able to find them! i saw the MARC logo one in Instyle magazine, and they said it would be available at Bloomingdales, but nothing's appeared on the site just yet. i really adore the ivory one. the closest i've found is the Owl Lady Bag, which has a somewhat similar shape, but a more old-fashioned feel IMO.

i might splurge on the Dr. Q Colorblock Huge Hillier Hobo in wine/multicolor patent (i really love the glossy wine patent next to the pink/red patent and gold hardware), because it's probably more practical. being as large as it is, i could carry work items, books, and papers as well.... but i'm concerned that it might be too "huge". i'm only 5'2". has anyone tried the Huge Hillier in person?

coolywah and ragtag...i saw that bag today at the marc by marc store in sf...
they had the blue "marc jacobs" print one and a grey leather one...
the print one is $300 and the leather one $350ish...

i couldn't decide which one i wanted, so i didn't get either, but i'm leaning towards the blue/print version...
you could try calling some marc by marc stores and see if they have it yet...
the sa said they just got them this week...

^ grey sounds fantastic! what shade of grey was it? i love this bag but i'd be hesitant to get a very pale color such as ivory.

also, how large is this bag? that's really my main concern... i use a larger size wallet and carry the standard cell phone, lipstick, keys, sometimes ipod.

ragtag...it was a medium, warmish grey...looked almost like a putty color...
i think it would probably hold all of those things, but it's not a big bag...
i'd say it was maybe 10" x 7"....
