Maria Sharapova

I love the black dress on her, it softens her body, and it is a refreshingly unusual choice for an athlete. And those shoes are hot!

I met her the other day at Jasmine Studios. I'm in PR and one of my accounts is Sony Ericsson - so I was in the room when she was being interviewed. She was professional, nice, and I even got a thank you when she left for the players party (where I later saw her again!) So yeah, I like Masha a lot...

 dinara's skin looks a lot better now though

I'm going to get terribly self-righteous again, which I hate. But I think it's really mean to make fun of someone's skin. Short of Accutane (which doesn't help everyone and is also something of a health risk), there's not a whole lot you can do about bad acne. Dinara Safina is a cute young woman (as is Sharapova!) and it upsets me when people talk about how ugly she is. Having grown up in my older brother's shadow, I imagine it must really hurt her to read comments like these, which are rampant on Youtube by the way.

I wasn't making fun of her skin! the smiley was for incrediblelunatic's post. I stated that dinara's skin is a lot better, which would be actually defending her. laughing at incrediblelunatics post, because I thought it was funny, but at the same time realizing that it's smth I shouldn't do and trying to "repair" that by saying that it's gotten better.
I would be in a bad place to make fun of people's skin :ninja:

^^ I know you were defending her, and like I said, I don't like getting all self-righteous. In general, I'm just touchy about people commenting on Safina's looks, as you may have noticed. Who said you have to look like a supermodel to play tennis?

Noone, but why can't it be noticed that some girls (Sharapova, Ivanovic, Hantuchova) look better than the others...

I agree with both of you. you don't have to be pretty to be a professional tennis player, but people will always comment on the looks of others, no matter who they are.

for the record, i wasn't making fun of either Maria or Dinara, i just noticed and made a comparison. i apologize if it sounded like i'm criticizing or bashing any of the girls and if it was in bad taste :flower:
