She might have been dropped :o

Yikes, I did pick up that she wasn't mentioned at all in Maria's Dior documentary (only Charlize)! Most likely Natalie was dropped as well. Maybe it's all for the best, let Charlize and Bella wear Maria's atrociously bad Valentino-lite creations. Now she can go back to John at Margiela, he's the one who kickstarted her Dior contract anyway (not marketing!).

So no more Dior, but still, what's happening with her RC style? These last two looks are too busy and lacks refinement.

how stylists - if that's what this situation is :o - can take a beautiful woman and dress her unfittingly over and over again is beyond me. it's similar to elizabeth olsen. but it also stems from stars being "linked" with a particular label/designer - like michelle williams - that doesn't suit them. they end up stuck in an endless loop.

actresses should SPREAD THEIR WNGS fashion-wise. wear MANY designers. wear what suits THEM as a female person. as we saw with elle fanning at cannes, who's worn mcqueen, westwood, gucci, etc, or nicole kidman, who's also been open-minded about fashion, variety really is the spice of life. it's fine if someone makes a mistake on the red carpet. i actually LIKE it in our PR-obsessed judgey world. :judge:

but it makes me sad to see marion in awful outfit after awful outfit. :( she could be wowing us right now, so i am not sure what's going on........ sorry for the rant. -_-

I kinda like this not-so successful line of outfits. She has been dropped by Dior and she is experimenting.
Prada should ride into the occasion...
I guess the next couture week will be an indication on which brand she'll choose.

I don't know if she still has good relationship with the people from LVMH but i can see her for Givenchy even if i believe that she will be closer to Chanel now. The bag she carried when arriving in Cannes was a Chanel from the cruise collection.

I would love to dress her if i was a stylist! Couture Everyday, from Chanel to Alaia and from Ronald Van Der Kemp to Versace!

It's like she is liberating herself from the Dior days. I always feel like she's has this rebel sensibility which is why she rocked some of these outfits. I'll give her a free pass and I'm sure she will fine tune her style soon.

i would love to style her too.
and yes, i am willing, of course!, to give her a pass; i love her talent and beauty.
it's just sad ... because i am longing for "wow" marion moments. ^_^

True, she's not getting it right all the time but she's clearly having fun trying out different designers and silhouettes. I noticed that in the last few years, she was having fun at the smaller events because she was allowed to wear designers other than Dior. It's pretty cool she's allowed to do that now at the bigger events!

That being said, the Halpern jumpsuit/dress she wore is absolutely sublime. I was also oddly enamored by the Y/Project.

She had good Dior days. It's very rude of them just to drop her like that though. But isn't the bag she's wearing for the anniversary photo call Dior? o.O

She had great Dior days under Galliano, I'm glad she's dropped, I would rather her keep on experimenting than to be stuck with **** like this. I like that she's going back to JPG and wearing some Armani. She needs to work on her hair and accessories though.

It's fine if she experiment with different brands, but I think it's important to at least keep that sense of refinement that we've been used to over the past few years. With a few Armani looks thrown in here and there, she'll be good to go. And maybe just pay a bit more attention to her hair.

Maybe the problem is not her stylist but her? Maybe she likes what she wears? i don't think she has nice fashion taste herself. Her street style is horrible.
She's just an actress, fashion is not her job and it doesn't seem to be a passion for her as well.

Chiuri, who took the reins of the historic house last July, reportedly wants a newer, younger face for her reimagined brand.

There must be more to this story, Marion and Charlize are both the same age, yet the former got the axe? I can understand why she's pissed off

Diane Kruger & Chanel,
Charlotte Gainsbourg & Louis Vuitton (Nicolas Ghesquiere?)
And now this.
This is like the year of big changes in terms of spokesperson.

Karl already "stole" Kristen from Nicolas and Charlotte seems to be in love with Saint Laurent.

Marion may needs to be contract-free for a while and refresh her fashion image. Dior has always been a bit stiff for me. She has been the face of the brand for nearly a decade and Dior is still that very conservative style of dressing she is not really herself.
She is more of an Isabel Marant type of girl and in a way the good thing about Chanel is that they allowed their spokesperson to be casual.

She should change her stylist and recreate a relationship between her and the designers.

She is not the best dresser (AT ALL) but she likes to experiment and that is her strength. She should use it to her advantage.

Charlize is the face of J'adore, so Dior Parfums. LVMH owns Dior Parfums but the Arnault Group owns LVMH and Christian Dior SA. It's a very complicated financial thing...
TO be clear, Marion has always been the face of the bags...So, she is closer to the fashion department than Charlize. I believe that Galliano was more of a consultant for the perfume department. As he was very influencial in the process of Dior being this big brand (he really made the business into what it has been for the last decade), he was able to choose the faces of their perfumes.

So Maria Grazia cannot do anything about Charlize (for the moment). This is the decision of either Bernard Arnault or Sydney Toledano.

It's a bit like at Chanel. Karl can be used as a consultant but apart from Anna Mouglalis, he never hired someone to be the face of Chanel cosmetics. BUT, as we saw with Audrey Tautou, if he doesn't like the behaviour of someone, Chanel can drop that person (but they were more elegant than Dior for the way they handle it).

But that thing about Dior Parfums is the same for the majority of the brands at LVMH. It was not up to Riccardo to drop Liv Tyler or to the Kenzo duo to change the face of Flower.
