what do you buy there? i go there for lingerie & some tea biscuits & butter cookies. do you like their garments?

M&S is a food store for me...... not clothes
i havent looked around the clothes departments for over 2 years, its all so old person's clothing

I'm always in the M&S next to my house for chocolate muffin "low fat" dessert things. Oh joy! Also, Salt&Vinegar crisps, pink grapefruit juice and ploughman's sandwiches.

A small selection of clothes are on the same floor, but I've never bought any. I have bought tights, but they were :yuk: Oh! Black knickers! They are my favourite "comfy undies".

OMG Acid you must be mad not to look at the Autograph section! They had a black ribbed silk skinny tie (looked identical to Hedi) for like £5 in the sale. It's pretty good quality as well.

just the food - especailly the 45p white chocoalte cookie

When I lived in London I tried to shop there everytime I could, worst luck the store was far away from where I lived. I bought salt and malt vinegar crisps there, chocolate deserts, fruits and the most confortable knickers I've ever worn!!! I want to go back to buy me some :( Haven't found any knickers here in Iceland to be close as confy and perfect llow rise as these were.

i highly recommend......

spinach, avocado and baby tomato salad with balsamic dressing

spinach and ricotta cantelonni

Pressed apple juice

dark cherries!!!

childrens mini pizzas!

i buy count on us low fat food from there, and the marinated ready to eat chicken which you can put in sandwiches, which is also really low fat! I go there for avocados too, and brie. I don't really buy much that isn't ready meals b/c my mum does all the food shopping from there beforehand.

Obviously underwear-they have a pretty cute new range called "Ceriso" or something like that. I never used to buy clothes and technically still don't but the new limited collection is ok for basics.

it's a sort of mini chain department store that sells everything-food, homeware, their own line of clothes. Thing is it's a bit dated, especially in the clothes area, so sales have gone way downhill, and when they do try to update, it's just a mess, and it looks tacky. But it would be a shame to get rid of it b/c it's a sort of tradition in this country now. I think they used to own (or still do own) Brooks Brothers in America. It's a store thats more for mummies and daddies than people under 35, I guess, depending on your taste.

It's one of the biggest companies in Britain!

Everyone should check out Autograph so far they've had Timothy Everest (Daks), Burro, Oliver Sweeney, Julien MacDonald, Phillip Treacy and Hussein Chalayan design for Autograph!

go in for pots of tea with fab fifties. love the carrot and corriander soup.

also percy pigs i love them so much there adictive!:p

i agree with what most people have said and agree i use it more as a food store.

oh forgot to mention my addiction to chocolate popcorn, in the bags that hang by the check-outs. :innocent:

this didn't belong in trendspotting - moved to shop till you drop.

:flower:

Well i'm 17 and i really like Per Una. I used to hate marks and spencers but accidentally came across a really nice skirt in there once and have been a convert ever since! Most people say it's too young looking, but i am young so suits me, but autograph also looks to have some great stuff!

Foodwise, i like their 'count on us' stuff!

marks 'n' sparks simply food is my local supermarket. There food is yummy yummy yummy yummy !!! I hate the way they have sweets by the till like fudge bars and percy pigs, i have to practically drag myself away from them.

I miss Marks & Sparks- they used to have stores in Canada but then they shut down. I used to get biscuits, jelly-candies, chocolates in cute tin boxes, old-fashioned soaps, and tank-tops from there. I also have a thing for Boots and am glad that my auntie brings lots of goodies from these stores when she visits.
