Mary-Kate Drops Out of NYU

poor girl...
you have to admit, as much money as these girls have, they are under a lot of pressure (scrutiny, etc). I hope she finds what she's looking for.
plus, school's not for everyone.

Uh, how can she be involved in running Dualstar without a university education? Even if she does own it, would she be allowed to make any decisions or really do anything at all without at least a BA? :innocent:

A large number of business people do not have degrees. For example, Richard Branson, one of Britain's wealthiest businessmen, does not have a degree nor did famous businessmen like King C. Gillette, Aristotle Onassis, Andrew Carnegie or Baron Beaverbrook (and many other examples).

well, its not like she needs to be there, she probably feels like shes gotten the most she can out of the experience right now, and wants to get back to working.

Yea, it's a bad choice, but she doesn't exactly need an education does she?

To be perfectly honest, if she feels like she's getting nothing from this experience, then she should drop out. Not everybody was meant to go to college.

^ TRUE. she can do it because she's got $$$$ to do so. Actually, it's never to late to go back to college.

yes, what was her major? ^

I believe she and Ashley were taking independent studies through NYU's Gallatin School. Basically, they were allowed to major in anything they wanted (and I think in the end, both would have probably ended up with a Bachelors of Fine Arts). MK was studying photography, and I heard her say she had taken some intense drama classes. Ashley interned with Zac Posen, so maybe she was taking some sort of fashion-ish program...

...why do I know this stuff???? That's so hurting. :ninja:

I'm pretty sure these girls have been involved with their company for many years now, which I'm assuming would give her as much, if not more, knowlegde to run it now than a college course ever would.

I don't get why she went to gollece in the first place. with that amount of money, who needs education?

plus, school's not for everyone.

'Everyone' being millionaires who can afford not to go to school. Most people have to receive a proper education before they can make a decent living.
