Mary Katrantzou S/S 2018 London

Wow, it's amazing how fast she managed to produce some rip-offs of the lastest collection of Calvin Klein. The rest says that she still doesn't have her own identity, some pieces are quite good but I wouldn't have guessed that it's Katrantzou. It's more Miu Miu slash Christopher Kane.

A parade of deflated hot air ballons in random tasteless colours and prints that awkwardly fell over the bodies of the models.

Is she auditioning for Ungaro?? Polka-dots with florals...arghhh!!

Remember when McQueen did that type of gathered skirt out of tulle and lace? That was gorgeous, this is a hot mess, especially since it comes in technicolour plastic. This collection looks like it was made of old raincoats and frayed blankets, it's such a let down considering so much of her early work was so engaging and inspired.

I really hope that this isn't a sign that puffball skirts are due a comeback. Also, what are they made out of? Bin bags? Looking at the pics up close, though, some of those 'paint by numbers' florals are actually very beautiful with all of the embroidery. It's just a shame about the 'balloon' silhouettes!

Do you mean the shiny stuffs? It's been there for a while, CK is just following the insta trend like Mary is.

This is just too busy: the prints, the shapes, the fabrics...
Some of it looks very Cristopher Kane but from 2010. Another bad collection from her...
