McQ AW 06-07

I received this release from their PR today...

AUTUMN/ WINTER 06-07 COLLECTION

COLLECTION
The first collection for McQ Alexander McQueen is a younger, edgier, more renegade McQueen. The collection which includes women’s wear, men’s wear and accessories, consists of signature McQueen pieces re-worked in fresh way with emphasis on denim and daywear.

INSPIRATION
The inspiration for the collection derives from the deep South American county with work wear references set in the repression eras mixed in with 1960’s biker gangs, rock hillbillies & teen rebels.

A 1960’s biker gang cruses through mid America. A group of teenage kids are impressed by their clothing and want to imitate their way of dressing mixing elements of their garments with classic Americana pieces in an eclectic way.

BRAND IDENTITY
A group of boys and girls, street casted in London for their individuality and attitude represent the McQ ‘gang’.
Alexander McQueen art-directed a series of 6 black & white portraits, shot by photographer Laurence Passera,
which were rolled out as part of an international below-the-line marketing campaign, featuring fly-posting and billboards in Milan, New York and London.

How do you guy think of it???

honestly, I don't like it.
but I love his skull scarf from the mainline. :)

Think this needs to be merged with the existing McQ thread....

Thanks punpanichewa though for posting all that info! I actually like the photos more than the actual clothing - the inspiration and attitude is all right....just that the clothing doesn't really match up.

I do like the menswear and the womenswear is cute. I am not so sure about the prices. It reminds me a bit of Westwood's Anglomania.

the men's stuffs look good imo. I like the cape, the trench ans double breasted anything:-)
Many thanks for posting.
