I miss the mid-00s days when MDC ratings were based on merit.

I'm actually surprised TFS mods haven't taken this thread down considering how redundant MDC is now.

Let's let this thread die and along with it MDC ratings.

Someone was removed from the High Earners section of Money Girls as well. I don’t have access to my rankings screenshots on my desktop currently (i’m on mobile), can anyone ID who it was?

MDC has always been shady and passive-aggressive with Ford so not surprised Fran Summers was left off the list. MDC will do things like omit a Ford girl from its rundown of models in a campaign or omit the pic of the Ford girl in a designer’s show list. They recently had polaroids of Ford models on Its homepage but mysteriously the image on the homepage was scrambled so you saw only a broken icon. Most recently they had Hannah Clevarie as a featured model but omitted Ford as one of her agencies. Just shows you they play favorites with certain agencies and their lists of top models or hot models or whatever should be taken with a very very large grain of salt. Maybe Ford won’t pay to have their girls highlighted or advertise with them. Best to keep in mind they are NOT an independent journalistic outlet. They are industry lackeys.

MDC has always had a preference towards certain agencies, and probably certain agents as well i.e. how quickly Valery Kaufman was taken off Top 50 as soon as she made the switch from Society to Lions, and how looooooong it takes for successful models from smaller agencies to get their spots on the rankings (but why call it rankings if the models aren’t ranked anymore?) Then again, they did add Lex and Ansley recently (should’ve added Fran then, because now it’ll probably take them months to check up on Ford’s roster again and add her).

I wonder what’ll happen to Kris G since she switched to Ford. Will they take her picture off the icon preview for the Hot List ranking? Will she be taken off the Hot List entirely? Or will there be no changes? I know a lot of Kwok’s Society models were ranked, and Kwok is Kris’ agent at Ford, so probably the latter. Time will tell, I guess.

I hate the term fake news, but when it comes to MDC and their top-50 models and the hot list, they are perpetuating fake news.

Gosh, I haven't looked at the lists for a while but they're so out of touch. The fact that they've just recently taken Liene Podina (who?) of the list confirms that.

Nowadays, it's hard to even name 50 models who deserve to be in the top 50. They're only a handful of models in the top 50 that work consistently. Anna E, Lexi, Mica, Natalie, Rianne, Kiki, Sora, Selena, Vittoria, Binx and Imaan and that's probably it. The rest has one or two good seasons and they're done. They should make the switch from Hot List to Top 50 more dynamic because one or two good seasons don't guarantee longevity. Just look at Faretta or Jess PW. EVERY new girl who has at least one blue chip campaign this season should be on the Hot List. Do you have a second good season? You should already be in the Top 50. Because that's probably the best they could do nowadays.

Grace Elizabeth, Luna, Birgit, Cara Taylor, Yasmin and Kris should've been in the Top 50 by now. Estella Boersma, Fernanda, Maartje, Greta, Julia, Lia, Marjan, Othilia, Riley and Roos should be removed.

But why do we even bother? They're so heavily influenced by agencies changes will never happen. And to be honest, I think the lists will cease to exist sooner rather than later. The current fashion industry doesn't want models to have a lasting career because they'll become too expensive, so making a list has become irrelevant.

Did someone at The Lions piss someone off at MDC? They removed Aya Jones (shortly after her comeback), Valery Kaufman, Grace Bol, Londone (Brokaw's new fave) pretty quickly. And surprised Shelby Hayes has never been on the hot list.

And your rankings are much more accurate, not based on agencies, and much more appreciated by all of us alike (I check the thread all the time but never thanked you for all your hard work, so now's definitely the time.)
