has only recently got a cover in how long
Maryna has fragrance contract, make-up contract, recent cover, numerous eds this year, H&M and GAP ads, as well as VS catalogue and De Beers

I'd say Lara is now destined to become the next number one, what after her W stint, US Vogue cover, VP acknowledgementX10, all her ads and a lingerie contract. But I hope it doesn't happen untill after the S/S 2010 show season, cause Raquel is still worthy enough to be number 1 right now.

IMO, for the male models, Baptiste doesn't deserve 1. Karl just keeps him to himself and I wouldn't consider someone who works for just one person to be the top male model. Karl obviously has a lot of people, which has influenced the models site, but still..

Sean Opry should be 1, He's been getting handfuls of editorials for 2 years, he's walked for countless household names, and no one will ever have a face like his.

I was shocked when I knew Baptiste was ranked 1st place,family matters...Karl.
Frankly,I realize that there's no crying in modeling,even you have worked damn hard.
The best way to become success is to try any means to get in touch with huge people,and do whatever they want you to do.

For me Raquel and Lara are distinctive: Lara is the booby, angry sexbomb and Raquel is the elegant, demure and mature model. I think this is how the industry sees them. Sasha has her wide eyed crazy stare or a huge crazy grin going for her, but Natasha is too run-o-the-mill for me. She used to have 'the walk' but that hasn't been visible for about 4 seasons and also her campaign list isn't what it has been. She has missed the last two Chanel shows (Cruise and Couture), not sure what that means: could be work but I think Natasha will fall before Sasha, Lara or Raquel. I am convinced of Lara's and Raquel's position and status butnot with the other two. I apologise for the rant, wasn't sure how much I was writing.

I am thinking completely different than everyone else then. I think Lara is close to becoming an iconic household name moreso than the other girls and is more likely to be moved to the Icon list before even Raquel. Raquel gets more work, but Lara seems to be much more iconic/celebrity.

Possibly not. I don't think Raquel is progressing to the Icons list any time soon. I think she'll stay put. Who knows what will happen in that time!? It could be Anna J taking over if she continues at her current pace. Though who still wants her after Meisel inevitably dumps her, we'll have to wait and see.

I don't think Lara will ever become a household name, but she is certainly one of the most iconic models in fashion today. She is probably more iconic than most of the girls on the icons list already. Personally I hope to never see Anna J's face again once Meisel dumps her, after all she owes almost all her success to him. Pretty soon he will take another random pretty girl and put her at the number 6 spot.

Just at number 6, no higher?!! hahaha, sorry that just made me laugh and I agree Thanatos, I wonder if Anna W will still use her. She isn't anyones fave but Meisel's. Question: Was she a fave of his back in 2004?

Also, I currently think of Lara as Iconic, I just do. At least in the Models.com iconic way. So few models have so many importat people backing her. Lara has Meisel, Miuccia, Karl, Anna W, Carine, Riccardo. The runway doesn't like her but she hates it too. I can see Lara moving to the Icon's List before Raquel too, or possibly together and then Anna J will shoot to No.1. Models.com is very random

She booked Prada and a Moschino campaign and stuff like that but she was nowhere working as much as she does today but she looked a little different back then, washed out and dark blonde hair and she was quite pale. Anna Maria actually seems to be able to hold her name without Meisel, she walks every major fashion show and gets campaigns without him.

Lara did Prada runway, thats about all I can remember. She was nowhere to be seen in Milan and she surprised everyone by popping up in Prada, along with the 14-15 year old waifs, and there was an article about her being "womanly" and "curvy" blahblah
