I know right? At least Hannah had a bit of hype and a Miu Miu campaign though. I seriously had to just go check who Kristy Kaurova is, so I looked at her MDC profile. Uh, it's basically empty? I mean come on, the girl is above Nimue who has had two Meisel editorials, a Prada campaign and a nice steady career so far.

Another thing I really dislike is how they never change the little explanations on the list. Lara's reads "one of last season's most spectacular newcomers" for God's sake.

IKR? And there are so many spelling errors, as I said before! It's pretty rididulous.

an acquaintance of mine and I have been debating about the rankings on Top 20 Icons and whether someone like Isabeli belongs on there over girls like Cindy Crawford and Kristen McMenamy.

that made me think -
how come Cindy and Kristen are not on the list? You'd think they would be considered as Icons.

Im curious to hear your opinions since I thought that this is the best place to ask

I think their way of ranking the icons is silly.

It has been explained before, but their Icons list is of WORKING models.. so no Cindy Crawford because what has she done recently? She is focused on her family I believe, and more power to her, but she is not one of the top working icons in respect to MDC criteria.

Yes, we realize that.
I think the point was that their criteria should be changed to accomodate icons who might not be working as much currently.

I understand that also, but who would the list include then? Cindy, Twiggy, Jean Shrimpton.. I think the list would stay pretty much the same for years and years. I like the idea of a working models list, but again its all about opinion in the end.

If I remember correctly I think the criteria for the Icon list is a major cover and/or campaign in the last year and Cindy has had both. And again, if the list is based on work, why is Isabeli so low? Who on that list is in more demand than Isabeli? It's just a random bunch of girls thrown together with little logic. The only thing right about it is Gisele at #1.

Isabeli in the icons should be at least in the top 10.. i agree with you. she's getting everything

Some movement today....... Ranya up to No27, quite a jump there.
Nimue Smit up to No41. Iris enters the Top 10 and Catherine McNeil drops out of the Top 10.
Rose Codero enters at No48.

Charlotte Di Calypso in at No38 and Jamie Bochert up to No34......probably on the strength of her Marc Jacobs campaign.

It also says Karlie moved up even though she moved down from 7 to 8.

Some changes today....

Lisanne De Jong and Mirte Maas have entered at No50 & No39 respectively.
Huge drops for Meghan Collison & Suvi Koponen.
Numie Smit had a big jump to No25.
Some other small changes I think but nothing to shout about.

But.......both Vlada & Snejana are off the list.

Katlin Aas (not surprising) and Kristy Kaurova (got rid of her as fast as they put her on) are also off the list

I can't believe Vlada (constant working) and Snejana are completely off the list though.... shocking really

I think they'll be back, Snejana has had a lot of work come out recently.
