Vlada & Snejana off the list is completely *CENSORED* up.
I have now learned to not pay attention to that list as it is complete BS. Thank you.

Shouldn't Philip Huang be in the Top 50 Men? He's done the Tommy Hilfiger campaign, appeared in Vogue Germany & Vogue China, has done several editorials, does pretty well in Milan FW, I mean he's been doing pretty well since 06-07.

i agree.. he used to be there but even though hes pretty much doing just as well now hes not anymore

I'm actually surprised Karlie didn't made a hue move up after that tons of Adverts and editorials

Abbey Lee is now number 11 and Cat McNeil 12. Hanne is 17 and Anna 18 Sigrid is 22 and Jourdan 23.

Outside the top 10 or so places, I suspect the agencies have a say in which of their girls go on this list. The agencies might overlook girls who they feel have reached their potential and/or don't or no longer need the push.

I think I read somewhere that the agencies really do not care about lists such as these, but that was a long time ago. In fact, I thought it was quite the coincidence that Charlotte di Calypso suddenly popped up at 35 a while back after MDC arranged an interview with a main agent at One Management :innocent:

Kim Noorda was dropped as well last week by the way...and FINALLY Alyona is gone, what was she still doing there?

Next to go: Charlotte, Suvi (let's face it), Anya, Julia, Alana, Karolin...maybe Lakshmi and Arlenis (oh no to both :o where are they?)

MDC needs to put out an updated Money Girls list.

Are you referring to Charlotte di Calypso? She is one of the top walkers in quantity and quality and has done two Ralph Lauren campaigns - isn't RL one of the highest paying clients, a couple of their contract models are the Money Girls list? I am not disputing your theory that her agent doing an interview helped her get on the rankings, but l would contend that she should have been ranked any way. Her editorial work is so-so, but she also does a decent amount of catalog work, which may or may not be a factor in the rankings.

Wouldn't Arlenis' Lancome contract keep her on the list?

I don't want to throw rocks at MDC, but I am perplexed by the rankings, it looks like once you are there, they don't like to move you, I mean they will eventually, it looks like they did a major housecleaning this go-round. There are models who haven't had a campaign in two seasons outranking models who have gotten 3-5 campaigns in the last two seasons, and while I don't follow all of these models, I don't see other compensating factors like runway or catalog work, now some of them do a fair amount of editorial work, but even then it's not as if they aren't fixtures in VI and VP.

Yes, I :innocent: too. The more these rankings are quoted in the general press (which they are), the more the agencies will care about it, and the press likes quoting from this list because the ranking is falsely inflated.

I might[edit.] start to believe this list is independent when "Top 50" actually means 50, not 75, or 66.. i.e when the model ranked "20" is actually 20th on the list, not 28th, or 32nd or whatever...

So many conspiracy theories...

This is actually kind of humorous, like I'm reading about a world of intrigue and espionage.

MDC needs to update its top female icons list. I don't see why Cindy Crawford is not included when if I ask all my classmates / friends / basically anyone who can't care less about fashion "Do you know Cindy Crawford"? They'll reply, 19 out of 20 times, HELL YEAH! And they go on about how beautiful she is etc. Ask them who "Erin Wasson" or "Stella Tennant" is and they'll give you blank faces. Isn't this what an icon should be? Someone who's shaped modelling so much she's known even outside its circle?

And the way Vlada and Snejana were bonked off the list when nobodies like (expletive) and Jamie Bochert are still included is just plain hilarious. So hilarious I can't laugh at it anymore.

But anyway maybe I don't know what their standards are. Whatever it is, they need to change it too. Ha-ha.

^Vlada and Snejana (didn't she get married to a wealthy man?) are not relevant anymore.. sad but true. They existed in 2007. we need to get over it.
fan base =/= relevance

^There you go....I don't see Vlada or Snejana in a Lanvin campaign by Meisel this season...Jamie however :innocent:

IDK about the past, but agencies care a lot about where their girls are placed. A lot a lot.

They're still pretty prominent in the runways though, which ought to count. And they have impressive portfolios too.

Jamie, ugh Jamie and her fantastic Lanvin campaign. It was great only because it did not showcase the feature I hate about Jamie the most. Guess.. :innocent:

I'm sorry IAmLordZen but cindy is not a WORKING icon , that icon list is for WORKING icons. No way has Cindy scored any real high fashion campaigns these years.. fame .. thats great but hardly a working icon sorry.

I've noticed a little bit more movement today....Anna De Rijk up to No35, Rasa Zukauskaite in at No26 and I believe Karlie Kloss and Anna Jagodzinska have done a swap from No6 to No8.
