my only concern would be putting her to the icon list which I hope should never come true, it would be a slap for hardworking model icons like Natalia
who have contributed a lot

I'm not a huge stan of Karolina or Natalia and I don't want to sound rude, but why is this so? Is this because Karolina did the sashaying around for VS and turned her back from high fashion?

And I think there's varied definition of icon; it could be recognition as a public figure, recognition from people following the fashion industry...Truth be told, Karolina's career move has been quite spectacular in itself. By starting out with Miucca, she has that credibility from the high fashion side. Moving on to VS, she got her name out into the public. That to me sounds like a reasonable argument to justify Karolina being an icon. People know Karolina because she did VS, but so what, Claudia is known for being a GUESS girl. Try as she might, but until Natalia headlines a movie, and is reported in the wider context of the media, Karolina has one-upped her this time around.

It doesnt have to do with that but Kurkova needs to prove her worth didnt she just stop from modeling and just recently returned, although I will admit I never was and never will be a fan of kurkova.

Public Figure I dont think so, sashaying your work doesnt mean you are a public figure, I think the icon list is pretty much exclusive in a way they have made a significant contribution to the fashion world and they have made an impact.

Stella Tennat for me deserves the icon list and she isnt in there , imo
Kurkova can be added back to the Money Girls or Sexy girls with Lima, etc. but definitely does not deserve the icon list

I don't think it is that Lara just "got lucky"
I think with the true number ones they change the "look" and make a huge change in the industry . Kate is the biggest example of this all the petite girls that followed her Mona j Emma Balfour Devon a etc etc, Gemma spawned a thousand imitations and changed what models weere scouted Sasha was promoted as she was the best of the look alikees! Same with Gisele.. The brazillian bomb wave and Lara presaged all the obsession with curve the whole crystal renn thing and all laras gap teeth imitators that work Georgia Jagger Ashley smith etc
I think the number one needs to be this strong. The best candidate is freja because she has had an influence in ghe rise of the androgynous model from Lea to andrej I think!

n of course she will be back in the money,n sexy girl list too.
she is just a full model(sexy,high fashion n expensive)

In the beginning of this century (probably you were not born) , she was the it girl of the moment, she was in a lot of Vogue covers (anna wintour loved her) , starred in a lot of campaigns, was the prada girl,,,...... was the only one that could sometimes outshine Gisele ....she probably contributed more to the fashion world than Natalia did. plus, has been more than 10 years since, and KK is still making an impact, just check it out the number of followers/ views to KK's thread are greated than those of Natalia....data speak for themselves

personally, I think your contributions are losing credibility after all this hatred towards sexy women as VS girls.....inferiority complex¿?

Vogue cover ? didnt Liya, Natalia and Gisel had Vogue Covers at the beginning of the century too, followers/viewers does not equate to greatness
she has views because she started modeling again ?
You see e.g. Kate, Natalia or even Eva, Karen on the VIP lists at Etam because they dont need to , they are known and have been given public recognition

and I never brought up anything, did I meantion the word VS ? never mentioned it in my upper posts

for me it will be a massive travesty if Kurkova will be in the icon list which I doubt will happen again and Stella Tennant deserves it so much, imo

Karolina will probably go back to the icons list pretty soon. She really has done it all. Much more than Natalia. So if Natalia is on there....Karolina must be ranked higher than her.


and whoever is saying that Lara has been number 1 for 2 years now...um she got moved to the number one spot in 2010 haha. After the ss10 campaigns came out. So she will probably be on there for a while.


Believe it or not, if Lindsey Wixson keeps it up. I could see her as the next number 1.

Karolina was on the cover of vogue when natalia was covering teen vogue. And this was in an era when vogue had multiple models on the cover each year. It'd be one thing if her body of work wasn't so strong compared to some other models up there, but you could actually take their resumes, put her name at the top, and major items would be missing.

I don't see wixson has the next number one. We'll see what Joan Smalls does, though.

As I said before, there's a varied definition to what people call an icon. Try as you might, people out there actually recognize Karolina more than they do with Natalia. As far as not mentioning "VS", umm, as far as I'm concerned VS is the only brand that "sashays" around, so yes, inadvertently, you have alluded to VS.

Plus, why is VS so bad anyway?! It turned Gisele, Heidi, and Tyra into icons! VS just shows how KK can master two worlds, HF and commerical! Plus back when KK started doing VS shows, they were uber sexy and amazing: nothing to be ashamed of!
