I don't think we can just strike Freja off #1 potential now that Saskia's doing Chanel.

I was getting bored of Freja for Chanel but Saskia sounds worse!

I go back & forth with Karlie all the time. Sometimes I think she is destined to be an icon, and sometimes I think she is going to become like Coco Rocha. She's going to have to find something other than Dior, ODLR, & Donna Karan to stay relevant in the next few years. If she can do that, then she will an icon.

im not sure about karlie becoming an icon. that is still too far away. editorial wise, karlie is doing amazing but the girl doesnt score enough covers to push her to superstardom.

You're right about the covers, but I think if she stays relevant, then the covers will come pouring in.

I don't know. Guess Poly and Sasha are also still on the running and don't count Anja Rubik out yet. Since Alt got VP all three of them will have lot of eds and probably covers for VP. I still don't count out Freja yet.

how about abbey? does she really have a chance? i havent see her in cover in while n does she have support from any editors?

^ i think abbey is the kind of model that her success all comes down to her own want for it. when she was hungry and in the game she was everywhere (ss10) and even though some people say she has lost 'it', she still books big shows and top campaigns. so i think if she wanted to she could get back to her highest level of demand, and then would be a real contender for no.1. i just don't see that happening though unfortunately. not because clients don't love her, but because she has multiple career objectives.

as for karlie, i think she really has a shot. i used to not be able to stand her but i think she is really evolving and coming in to her own. i think if she can develop further and show she can be edgy (which it seems like she is trying to show lately) and book some campaigns with houses that show that versatility then she has a real shot! unfortunately for freja (and maybe anja) i think that by the time Lara is moved, they might be slowing down.

Karlie getting a Time cover is pretty impressive for a model though. She's only 18/19? She needs Anna to give her some American Vogue covers ala Gisele when she was 18/19. It did wonders for her. I can see it happening too, since she seems to have Anna's support.

It's clearly going to be Freja. The real question is who gets it after her.

^i don't think that it is clearly goign to Freja. Since her Chanel day's maybe over for the moment it depends which campaigns she will grab and covers and if she grab some then maybe she will get the spot. But I think franki is right, by the time Lara is moved, Karlie has the best shot at it.

the rankings get update,
Marique Schimmel debuts at 49
Dree down to 21
Zuzanna up to 19
Sun Fei Fei up to 19
Daria S. up to 16

*Hailey up to 35

I think it's time for Julija Step, Crystal Renn, Ajak Deng, Eliza Cummings & even my precious Eniko to go. It has BEEN time for Jamie Bochert, Allesandra Ambrosio, Dree Hemingway & Miranda Kerr to be removed. I think they should be replaced by Melissa Tammerjin, Melodie Monrose, Julia Nobis & Kate King.

Marique was already on the list... wasn't she?

Eniko also moved up to 23.

Wait, what? :huh:Eniko has moved UP?!?! The only thing keeping her in the top 50 was her monthly VP eds. Now that Carine's gone I don't understand Eniko's placement. MDC really does make some odd moves.

sometimes models move down but mdc sh*tty update system says the opposite.

yeah, Marique debuted weeks ago and Hailey Clauson moved up to 35 weeks ago too..
and where is Julia Nobis?? she should've been ranked a long time ago! also i agree that Melissa T. and Kate King should be added soon,
not sure about Melodie though :ermm:

what about Ashley Smith? she was in Vogue Italia twice this year..
and with her height and that body (which is amazing imo) she's walked for Balenciaga, Prada and now for Chanel!! :woot:
.

Yeah but more models did walk for Balenciaga, Prada, Chanel and were in VI. Melodie i'm also not sure. Melissa T. I guess, but she hasn't done much Vogue or a blue chip campaign has she?

Melodie was in the D&G campaign just like Marique, who is ranked. She has also been in VI, Numero & Harper's Bazaar eds over the past year. I would rank her at #49 with Marique.

As far as Ashley Smith, isn't the only decent campaign she was in T by Alexander Wang?

^ she recently got a Diesel fragance and Hilfiger Denim campaigns, she always has work though..
but yeah, she's stronger in editorials

but Ashley was probably the only one who is shorter and more voluptuous than the average runway model, i just think it was big achievement for her to book those shows because she doesn't really fit the standards -_-
she also opened Vivienne Westwood btw..

I'd love to see her ranked, but she still needs more campaigns, or way more hf ed work.

I forgot about Melodie and D&G. i'm not following her really, but in my mind I saw Melissa more on the runway etc.

I think Ashley need more blue chip campaigns.. And opening Vivienne Westwood is great, but that isn't a blue chip show (what a word) like opening Chanel, Prada, CK or Balenciaga etc.

I mean Kelly Mittendorf with her Prada campaign, VI spread and walking shows like Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs, Loewe and Louis Vuitton isn't even ranked. Although on her MDC profile it looks like she hasn't done much ed work.
