Meghan Collison

She looks nice in the Prada ad - I wish photographers would allow her to do more work wherein she isn't as harsh or "edgy" granted she can do that but I feel as though she's a very pretty girl and sometimes that doesn't come out in her photographs due to the focus on making the shots edgy. I think that Vogue Italia cover could have been a lot nicer if they went with a softer theme overall. I like when she smiles I think she has a very warm and genuine smile. The resort prada dresses suit her quite well - and it really takes a good model to make those dumpy sacks look halfway decent..

Larger Prada image - I really like her in this. I wonder how many there are in this series.

The girl in the middle is the only one looking great in that ad. Actually for a colorful and feminine line as Pradas latest, the ads should have been brighter and more directed toward spring/summer soft/geniuine vibe. This ad is simply horrible. It makes me feel tired.

I don't think the comparisons to Catherine McNeil are fair. First, McNeil's rise was far greater, and despite her awful work with Testino but she's still very viable on the runway. With Meaghan, I think the hype was over before it ever even began. She simply doesn't look good on the runway and I personally think she's boring in editorials.

i've been following her since she first popped up on mode.... but i can't seem to get into her... she's great in print (vogue italia cover was incredible), but the i can't handle her runway look.. and even in print, how long are people going to want to see the same sullen expressions with her hair all in her face? i know that the styling and what photographers/editors want is not her choice, but i think that supreme needs to step in soon so that she doesn't become a one look wonder like catherine mcneil.. she died off because everyone realized that she could only make one face, but even then, she's in a better spot than meghan would be because her classic beauty can be translated into anything. meghan is edgy-- but i think if she becomes more versatile she could last for a long time.

i don't think you can say that Catherine McNeil has died off. she's still doing well. people are so stupid to hype things up. also, to say Catherine is a one look wonder is ridiculous. or that she can only do one face. how absurd.

actually, if u look at Catherine's work before Testino, she was incredibly good. lots of people agree that he did her no justice. you're right - she is a classic beauty, and unfortunately classic beauties are not valued as much these days in modelling.

sorry if a repost - just came across this one

agreed!

compare her to sasha and the girl to the left of sasha. They both convey powerful and deep emotions. Then the next girl is doing something weird...but meghan is flatline. She can't just sit there in each editorial/cover/ad and hope the weird face will do the work for her. I'd recommend she study Querelle Jansen's (sp?) portfolio to see how to work a weird face :alien:

i'm just hoping that she develops some versatility... the dead stare is boooring... i think she's got potential, but in order to continue rising, she's going to need more than an ability to stare moodily into a camera lens.

I like that they softened her up a bit in the Prada Resort ad. It's a step in the right direction. The whole brooding death stare thing has gotten a little tired and monotonous.

bleh ive lost interest... rather dissapointing but im unsubscribing

I love her in the Prada ad. I think she looks terrific and on the Peter Som runway she looks great as well although I think her look in Rad HOurani was one of her best runway shots that I've seen.

^Absolutely Sam! The Prada Resort campaign is certainly a great step in the right direction. She looks calm and poised, especially amidst Miuccia's favorite and Kulikova. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, obviously, but for me she's still quite viable. The pre-season buzz was solely directed to her editorials, cover, and campaigns. Few other new faces, even after successful show seasons, will come close to this level of editorial success...

Anyhow, I personally think that writing her off this quickly will prove to be a mistake. Then again my opinion is wholeheartedly biased I guess...

^ I completely agree. I have hope for her and even though the Prada ad could have been a bit better, she still remains one of my favorite models. I'm sure she'll be around for awhile and will have plenty of more chances to wow people :flower:

I second both comments. It's been a while since Prada campaigns have impressed me and this looks just as unexciting as the previous ones.. it's not just Meghan, it's the entire thing in my opinion. if anything, the girl in the blue skirt and meghan are the ones bringing some interesting mood into the image..
as for her runway appearances, I don't think we've seen enough from her to make a fair judgement really, the only show with some real styling instead of her own was Prada and she looked amazing there, I wish she had done more so that she could show her versatility because so far, she hasn't, she's still very new despite the hype and hasn't done a lot variety... I don't think you can make a proper judgement until you've seen enough sides of her .. we hadn't even seen her smile until a couple weeks ago, and everyone loved it!.. I just hope they don't encapsulate her in that angry look for too long so that she can live up to the hype and her potential. -_-

Meghan is refreshing, and darling. She has charm! I am sure that is why so many people are working with her. It is not hype, but she has something very different than most models. She is like a real, teen girl from the early 90's. I love her look!

^ I agree she's has this sort of unaffected charm to her that a lot of the girls are lacking right now. She just seems laid back and cool and I'm sure designers and photographers see that / want to tap into that to display their clothing.

I think the Prada ad looks good. Its something different for her and for Prada. I hope there are more in this series.
