I think that's a very silly move actually (if the situation was that she was going to be there - which, you know, who knows if that was the case). I understand if someone like Sasha chose a break over walking Prada, but not a new girl.

It might be more like "unfortunate". I bet they were looking for an exclusive with someone.

In the casting thread, smokebreak said:
"on hold" for prada exclusive so yes technically the same as "in the running." I was canceled an hour before the show which is actually a common practice. A majority of new girls who the casting director Marsh (who handles prada's) picks up are put "on hold" for prada from what I'm told

So if the agency holds back a newish model hoping for the "exclusive", and it doesn't come through, the whole week is messed up. It's not like an agency wants to announce this. You can probably look at a few other cases of "missing" models for this syndrome too.

And again, this is all hypothetical and the 'needed a break' is only based on the words of the clotheshorse.

I don't think Meghan's look would have suited the Prada casting this season anyway, which would be a more believable/obvious/logical reason as to why she was not there.

Well, probably not Prada. Maybe someone else. Agents seem to be very big on "exclusives" but they are so risky.

I think it was good for her to take a break instead of walking for Prada.
If you need the break that bad, I don't any show is worth walking then. Yes, if you are someone who has done as many seasons as Sasha I think you could need a break but I think for someone like Meghan who is only in her second season it can be very much needed as well.

I don't think missing out on Prada will hurt her at all. Part of the reason why models do runway work is to be seen by the magazine editors& photographers. Meghan has done an avalanche of editorials & campaigns that the majority of girls that show up on every single runway don't even get the chance to do. She's got a few magazines & photographers on her side and she's becoming more of an editorial model it seems...which i think is not a bad thing at all.
