I mean, I think she looks good on the runway - just for a certain type of designer ie. Givenchy or Prada

I'm just curious as to why she decided to take a season off

Well it's not very unusual for models to take seasons off from time to time. The runway bit is just a PART of a model's season anyway. Runways = exposure = editorials but she's already got editorials in the bag so really it's not really such a big deal in the big picture
