Incroyable...i think it would look good (on you)...it matters what kind of guy you are...but i feel like you could carry it off ;)

I have just been back from Moscow and every men/boy/male there wears a small bag, shoulder or not. It was a big surprise, although the bags are not feminine nor "fashionable":-) Russian people have to carry some id docs with themself so that is the reason.

Btw, the "walking male part" of streets in Moscow and St. Peter look just great, in a lot of prints, colors and dyes. The driving have exp. cars and those rather matter:-)

Dont u think that LV bags are for older men?

I see many guys downtown wearing bags, that are mostly over the shoulder bags

 definitely no!!ive been to some LV stores and seen their current stuff
it was cool
many kinds of bags there
and the new bags are absolutely gorgeous and not antique
only because they are too expensive here

There are still a huge number of people in the US who cannot accept the idea of men carrying bags, or wearing fashionable clothes for that matter. I don't see this changing very soon, sad to say. :(

tons of guys carry bags where im from, omaha, but then again its like the hipster capital of the world.

so how do u carry things without bags?plastic bags? :o

As a man I love man bags. I have a closet full of them. My favorites are the new Louis Vuitton Sac Squash and Prada's postman bag. Being a student I don't get that many "looks", mostly compliments. Though some people don't understand my small Prada flat messanger (I'm sure everyone has seen this style, it is pretty ubiquitous), because it looks a little more "gay" (God I hate classifying things that way). I have been going back and forth on whether or not a Birkin would be appropriate for a man, cause God I love them, but after reading the posts under this topic I feel that it would be appropriate. I mean I carry an f-ing Chanel tote some days, why not a Birkin?

Men should definately start carrying bags. I am sick of stuffing all my friends' keys and phones in my bag. At the end of the night I feel like a coat check girl giving everyone their stuff back

 lmao. my wife says the same thing. But I don't carry a bag on the weekends, there is no use.

This topic is kind of funny to me, because I was not even AWARE that there is such a thing as a man-bag and that people get stereotyped for it. This is real news to me. I've always carried a bag because I've always been in school or at work and therefore I need a bag. Naturally, my bags were never Janesport. For a long time I had a black nylon Dolce and Gabanna (NOT D&G  ), until it got stolen from my car. Now I have a beautiful black canvas/leather messenger bag with bondage leather closures - really gorgeous and unique - by Helmut Lang.

As far as LV bags, sorry guys, but I think it's really cheesy and passe - just like anything else logo ridden. Anyway I don't really see men carrying LV, I've seen only a few in a while.

I definitely love Helmut Lang's bags and would recommend them to anyone, just like the rest of his accessories. I think they are well made, funky and unique.

If I were to go the cheap route, I would get a Manhattan Portage bag and take off the annyoing red label. Those bags look quite nice without it.

There's a boy in the building in which I work who carries the LV bag in that check pattern...it's not too big, across his chest. It actually looks nice...but then again, he's Italian ;)

The Prada Postman bag: http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/...index=47&cmCat= is very popular here on the streets of NYC. I have probably a good dozen or so guys with this bag. It's a nice, basic work approrpiate bag, but I can't see spending $600 on it (it comes smaller). I actually like the Prada leather bag that's been featured in GQ, Esquire and Details, but I know it probably costs a good $1200 or so. I'm going to have to stalk the Barneys sale racks for this one I've been quite pleased (unlike many others) with my Prada leather bags...very durable.

Styledrops.com seems to have a decent amt of mens Prada bags as well, although who knows if they are real..... :innocent:

I've yet to see a man pull off the LV mono look well...but maybe I am biased because I think the mono bags are hideous for both men and women. It just looks so tacky.

I can't understand where the problem is... I mean... why do you have to care about what narrow-minded people say about you?

Oscar Wilde said that it doesn't matter whether they're talking good or bad about you, it just matter that they ARE talkin' about you.
Being an "invisible man", and being able to vanish in the crowd are not skills in which I wanna grow stronger.

IMO bags are SO useful, expecially in summer, when you can't go out with a coat stuffed with keys, wallet, mobile phone etc etc...

If you like it, you should definitely use it and enjoy it.

ps: here in Italy there's no problem if a man carries a bag!

i could even wear a big hat with feathers and flowers walking along the street :innocent:
