Michael Fassbender

^ I wish I could say the same, haha. And NO, we cannot stop talking about Fassy!!

In that vid of him coming up to Carey to hug and kiss her, I love how all the paps go "awww !"

And um, there's a movie clip from Shame that's been uploaded online. You can see it here. WARNING: IT IS NSFW. :brows:

^Oh my. :brows: Now that the film is finally out here, I'll probably be seeing it in the next few days or so.

Actor Michael Fassbender arrives at the 37th Annual Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards at InterContinental Hotel on January 13, 2012 in Century City, California.

I can't believe he didn't win. I haven't seen Clooney's film, but I can hardly imagine a better, stronger, more powerful performance than Michael's this year.
So disappointed.

I can't believe he did not win... honestly... George Clooney... the laziest actor of all times... playing himself most of the time... anyway... I guess American film critics are generally freaked out by nudity... violence is fine but nudity is a no no...

I agree. I just totally refuse to believe they are not recognising his amazing work in Shame.

The Golden Globes is voted on by the Foreign Press. Michael won a lot of regional Best Actor awards and nominations from critics in various U.S. cities so I don't think American critics have a problem with nudity.

yes, that's true but I read a couple of magazine articles which claimed that he won't stand a chance for an Oscar purely because of the nudity and the attitude the American film critics have when it comes to male nudity... it might be a complete and utter bullsh't but when you think about it, it makes sense... it is shame if that's true because they guy is offering an amazing performance with a range of emotions that not many actors (esp George Clooney) can portray...

^The Oscars aren't voted on by critics though. They are voted on by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences-- who are basically industry professionals and fellow actors.

I think the problem Michael is having is that he gave a great performance in a so-so film. The movie Shame hasn't garnered any type of nomination for best picture during all of awards season. It's harder to award someone best actor if the movie he was in isn't considered to be among the best of the year.

I don't agree that it is a so so film... but I appreciate your opinion ... but at the same time Iron Lady is a very so so film as well as far as I am concerned...maybe even below so so... the only thing that saved the film is Meryl's amazing performance...

okay let's just say I meant the 'voters' not critics... I am not really familiar with the very structure of these awards...

I'm not that bothered that Michael didn't win. He's relatively young. He has a lot of opportunities to win in the future.
I'm more bothered by the um, 'golfing' joke by Clooney.

On a related note, I thought Michael looked sharp at the GG.
I hope we get afterparty pics of him. I heard he led the line at the bar.

George Clooney's acceptance speech, when he talks about Michael's 'manhood'. Haha, I thought it was very funny, and the faces Michael does are priceless. He's amazing and, yeah, he should've won.
