indiewireHaving recently wrapped "Knights Of Cups" in L.A., a story about a man temptations, celebrity, and excess that stars Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett, Isabel Lucas (at least in its principal cast), recluse filmmaker turned speedy auteur, Terrence Malick is now in Austin, Texas shooting his next picture, formerly known as "Lawless" (Malick was kind enough to let his friend John Hillcoat take the name for his gangster drama that came out late August).
Untitled for now, the film follows two intersecting love triangles and is a story of sexual obsession and betrayal set against Austin's vibrant and colorful music scene. This picture also stars Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman, in addition to leads Ryan Gosling. Rooney Mara ("The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo") and Haley Bennett. Moving at a speedy pace and shooting on the quick, since every actor in Hollywood is dying to have the experience of working in a Terrence Malick movie (even if the chances are high they won't make the final cut), the director has had myriad thespians drop by in both recent films for what are likely small day parts and cameos. Holly Hunter was the latest actor spotted frolicking in Malick's new drama and today a photo, albeit a blurry one, has surfaced of Michael Fassbender ("Shame") on set next to Ryan Gosling (ladies will love this one). Fassbender had been shooting Ridley Scott's "The Counselor" in London (it resumed production on September 3) but it's unclear whether this role will be anything more than a glorified cameo (seems doubtful), but we really know until further details surface or someone corners the "Prometheus" star.
Fassbender will be likely be seen next in "Twelve Years A Slave" which should arrive sometime in 2013. Production should begin later this year on "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," the sequel to "X-Men: Origins" Following those roles the actor of Irish/German extraction will appear in Lenny Abrahamson's "Frank" and Lynne Ramsay's "Jane Got A Gun." Malick's most recently completed film, "To The Wonder" was just acquired by Magnolia pictures for a 2013 release.
Guaranteed to make Wolkfolk faint.
It does look like fun, I wonder when it will be out?Looks like a great film, a fun cast.

Then those candids are almost cruel - making us look forward to something that's so far offMalick spend at least 2 years to edit his films so probably not before 2014-15.
