Michael Jackson (September 2005 - November 2010)

^I think she did so much better this time, indeed.
I was able to feel the honesty and sincerity even though a lot of the things she said this time she's also said in 2005/before. Not sure if it will ever really be closure for her though because it sounded like MJ was the love of her life and it's probably taken his death for her to realize that. This is really sad. I cried throughout the thing like I had anything to do with it! But I'm glad to know that Michael really did experience the interpersonal romantic love as we know it, however close to normal it could have been. Yes I now have no doubt that Lisa and Michael truly loved each other.

she touched on a lot on the same subjects but without the angst like before. as far as closure, i mean at least publicly she felt she needed to take back some of the mean things she said in the 'heat of the moment'. i felt she already did that with her blog but i'm sure she wanted more people to hear it and hope that interviewers won't hound her as much; as they might had she not done this interview(even if it was with Oprah ). some things in life you can never really get 'over' but learn to cope over time.

during the interview i would drift back and forth and think about her current husband. i'm sure it would not be easy to hear her say these things but he seems to be supportive of her which is good.

i think people don't display that much passion(even if it's anger, years and years later) for someone if they truly didn't have something with them. i believed them when they said they were a normal couple. when she went on later interviews, she seemed to be trying dispel... i wasn't convinced, i could see she was on the defensive but i just worried about how it would end up affecting them both in the worst way. it hurts both of their credibility and(to the skeptics or general public) made their relationship seem more like sham, other people would not see it the way i did, ya know? then she did completely throw him under the bus at the worst time, in '05. i wished in those interviews she could've thought less of herself and more of how her actions affect other people * sigh * but i feel MJ would have forgiven her...

i used to think she was really pretty(when i was a kid watching Elvis stuff) but thought it was a shame that she didn't smile more. i never saw her smile more than when they were a couple.

^definitely. She has these piercing eyes that make you think at once, damn this girl is interesting.
(Although I often have a hard time believing that she is a mother with kids. She always seems like a girl to me, even now)

She wasn't the most attracting woman on earth then, certainly not the type I'd think Michael would have gone after but given her status and family background they were indeed the perfect couple in my eyes. That's quite a strange perception in itself because they didn't exactly have the most complementary personalities. Then there was the bitter interview(s?) with all the bashing and innuendoes in the worst of times. So it wasn't easy for people not to have doubts. But I agree on the other hand that there must have been truly something for her to have been so angry. So I'm glad that she set the record straight so to speak. And you're absolutely right about people having to cope with something that they'll probably never really get over with. Exactly what I meant to say. And I think that's the saddest part of the whole thing.

This interview also allowed me to know a little more about Michael as a person. Like he'd ice you out if he felt he was wronged against.
For some reason it made me love him even more^_^

I feel for LMP's current husband too. One wonders if his first name had anything to do with their relationship...

^ i remember checking out Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces (1999) book and saying to my sister Dirty Diana, so is LMP gonna model or what? because she can ^_^. she does have a girlishness about her.

i do think she will find peace eventually, not to 'get over'(such an insensitive phrase) but time does help to heal.

yeah i think some aspects of their personalities are like opposites. i think he is more of a idealist / optimistic thinker whereas she can be a little more pessimistic. sometimes people need that to balance each other out like yin and yang or it could be a hot mess.

it's nice...but kind of crazy how 'chill' LMP's husband is about it all. maybe she isn't letting in on him getting mad about it sometimes. which even if it's true then it's good she is NOT talking about that publicly. she doesn't need more commentary on her marriages. but it is marriage, you're supposed to at least try to stick with your partner through thick and thin or else. no one expected June 25th to happen(except heartless bastards).

generally speaking, i have a hard time coming up with a woman who enough of a name and her own wealth to be with MJ and be at least closer to equal. not to mention someone who would mesh with him personality wise and lifestyle.

yeah there were a lot of interviews starting in 2003(a bad time for him too, start of the accusations) and onward...i'll PM you. one bad interview is enough of a slip up but they just kept going! one of the things that bothered me about the Oprah interview was she said she was on the phone with him in '05 and he was asking her if she still loved him etc. she said she felt emotionally disconnected from him, which i get but that same year(and afterwards) she was talking about him in the media very passionately at the '05 Oprah show. i felt like it would have been more constructive to have discussed their relationship together. like damn girl, it hurt me to hear that and i'm not even a part of this.

This interview also allowed me to know a little more about Michael as a person. Like he'd ice you out if he felt he was wronged against. For some reason it made me love him even more^_^
^ i'm like that :ninja:. i would assume like me, he had legitimate reasons to be mad at someone, it wasn't for small arguments. no one likes to be iced out but damn, i'd take that over people being push overs / doormat types, fa shos.

^^What a cutie!
Same thing can't be said about Yeezy's MJ though.
(Did you read/see his MTV interview about the MJ scene? I don't think I'm meant to understand him)

^He said something like MJ represented a cult following and the way I think I understood it was that he was the little boy holding the torch, who was then indoctrinated into this cult, stripped of individuality, what with all the KKK hood references and all.
Was that what he was trying to say? More importantly, was he trying to complain about it?
'Cause it kinda felt like he was blaming MJ for his own misfortunes...

^_^ I like Kanye, even after all these years, but he lost me on this.

^ yeah i got those vibes from it too but it could also have been less against MJ and more against the industry, either or i really durno lol. but Yeezy baby doesn't really elaborate, i choose to take it as a tribute to MJ. Yeezy is always going on and on about something when i just want the short story.

beautiful video but too overwrought with symbolism mumbo jumbo, give me something concise. artists today are trying hard to have another Thriller but they tend to make their work overly personal. whereas MJ made it more of a universal message and inclusion of others not exclusion while still getting his point across.

^Agree!
Some places are so awkward it's hilarious. Like the one where he gets up the piano and sings to the ballerinas 'Let's have a toast for the douchebags' I had to take awhile to sink that one in. And his voice is almost cracking! I just don't know what to think.
But the scenes are amazingly beautiful indeed, and I can totally ignore Selita's acting. or lack of. I guess I will take the MJ part as a tribute too. I just wish he'd made Michael more like Michael!-_-

the part where the guy asked him if he knew his girlfriend was a bird was hilarious!
* camera pans away slowly on Kanye's "not amused face" -_- while the woman next to Selita touches her wings *
funny how he was singing about douchebags with beautiful ballerinas in the background. i think that was my favorite part, i loves ~bailarinas. the music was coo.

yeah i was like i know dat's Mikey but it didn't really look like him when you got a good look

people are trying to call the next Thriller but the concept of Kanye's video reminded me more of Ghosts. it's a preview of the music on his album but not as consistent(flow)/entertaining.

the acting was in Runaway was atrosh. i hate the passe style of acting...no emotion in faces or voices. i want charisma! i want Mikey  lol yeahhh...

it's the time of year for Thriller & Ghosts ^_^

^My favorite part was the ballerinas too. I think Kanye said that was also his favorite part.
His MJ was major fail. Really Yeezy, that's how Mike looked like to you!
I didn't know that was supposed to be Mike at all. Not until I read the comments on Youtube!

I wonder if it's actually some kind of a hidden message of his. Yeah nice try but you failed.

Top Earning Dead Celebrities
No. 1 Michael Jackson

$275 million
Musician
Died: June 25, 2009
Age: 50
Cause: Homicide

The King of Pop passed away last summer, but he’s made more money over the past year than any musician, dead or alive. Jackson not only took the No.1 spot on our 10th annual ranking of the Top-Earning Dead Celebrities, with gross earnings of $275 million, he out-earned the other 12 deceased stars on the list combined. His $275 million total was greater than the earnings of the two most profitable living acts, U2 and AC/DC, combined. Jackson's posthumous earnings have been bolstered by shrewd negotiations by his estate, including a merchandising deal and the rights to his name and likeness for the Sony film This Is It, which grossed over a quarter of a billion dollars.

Yeah I know you live in Gary/MJ:heart:town^_^. I never get to see anybody that fun! I'm beginning to hate my friends-_-, for not knowing.

when i was in Los Angeles i stayed in J-town for a little bit. MJ merchandise was everywhere but there was one shop that caught my eye, it had a cute MJ top prominently on display. we were just browsing, i was like a little kid, oOoOo aahhHhh :woot:. we left and went back to the hotel for breakfast and i kept thinking about the shirt so i was like i wanna go back! we were going back that way anyways to look at art and buy yummy goodies etc. the shop owner was a nice older Asian gentleman in his 60's-70's, very smiley and helpful. when he rang me up he was so sweet, he just had a sad look in eyes even though he was still smiling. he told me he liked Michael Jackson too, that he missed him very much and thought he was a good person and a huge loss for the world . my friends asked me why i was talking to the shop owner for so long, i was like he likes MJ too ^_^. it sweet moment for me.

later on in the trip, we visited Chinatown too and while i was just browsing. one of the stand owners and her daughter came up to me and said she liked my style and that it reminded her Michael Jackson! they were asking about the jacket i was wearing, a black leather jacket with zippers, very BAD. ironically i was wearing my Dangerous tee shirt underneath so i showed her and was like Thank You because i love Michael Jackson too! ^_^

MJ was everywhere on that trip, that was just part of J-Town and Chinatown. i have some not-so-fun friends too! one of them on the trip doesn't like MJ, we outnumbered him though. when we were driving in the middle of nowhere my friend who doesn't like MJ turned on the radio to get away all the MJ on our iPods, only to get stuck with a Jackson 5 marathon:lol: ! he actually didn't seem to mind but i wonder if he even knew that was J5 :P

i still see the Billie Jean singin' bank teller whenever i go to the bank :D

Michael Jackson No1. This Halloween
By Sally on Oct 25th, 2010

Yes, the King of Pop is still set to break records even after his sad, untimely death as his “Thriller” costume is set to become the biggest selling Halloween fancy dress costume of all time. Online merchants are reporting a massive increase in hits on the famous red Michael Jackson outfit designed by Deborah Landis, wife of John Landis, which wowed audiences in the infamous 80’s Thriller Video catapulting him into the megastar we know today.

thriller-imdb.jpg

Michael Jackson’s 14 minute masterpiece directed by John Landis and featuring the classic vocal talents of horror film star Vincent Price was not only a landmark in the music pop culture but was itself a record breaker itself selling over 9 million copies.

The previous record for fancy dress costumes was held by the popular Scream outfit after the success of the 1996 horror film. As that particular costume had the advantage of being available in many price ranges it was seen skulking around on every doorstep whereas the “Thriller” costume is generally only available in 2 which gives this record breaking costume even more standing.

The online fancy dress costume merchants are only hoping they have ordered enough to satisfy the demand as the sales begin to increase. It’s been estimated that an incredible 1,000,000 Thriller costumes will be sold this Halloween worldwide so expect a plethora of MJ’s thrilling your doorstep this Halloween and also expect to be invited to a couple of “Thriller” Halloween parties which seem to the favourite Halloween party theme this year.
