Michelle Williams

I thought the film was quite pedestrian - it has a made-for-television feel. Michelle is incredible in it though.

it's wonderful to see Michelle's work acknowledged with those nominations (Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards & CRITICS’ CHOICE MOVIE AWARDS) so far...hope for more (GG, Oscars!) and I want her to win the Oscar ! (it would be the third time for her to be nominated!) ...she is never selling out or promoting die-hard - maybe that's the prob as well that she is not the person to go for the "typical Oscar-parts" ! that's part of her charm though and that's why I personally like her soooo much! she is acting because she likes the art but not the whole blablabla aside and doesn't seem to aspire being on Leno or Letterman every time she could promote something!

I feel like this would be her last chance in quite a while to nab an Oscar. She doesn't really usually pick showy parts like this as you said. Unless she'll start to get offered them.

I think she will from now on, Lola..she's just getting started on the A list road

On her SAG nomination (probably written by the publicist, lol):

"I am honored to be nominated alongside the unparalleled Kenneth Branagh. Inhabiting a woman as renowned as Marilyn was a wonderful challenge, so to receive this sort of support from my peers is very moving indeed. Marilyn herself always approached her performances with such dedication and intelligence and a talent that defied explanation. I hope we were able to shed some light on those often overlooked aspects of her. Thank you so much to The Weinstein Company for all of their incredible support, and their continued devotion to independent films like ours."

She's managed to get two nominations with supposedly 'unshowy' roles before now, I don't think Marilyn will be her last Oscar nomination (if she gets one). Lets just put this into perspective for a second, assuming she's nominated this season, she'll have had three Oscar nominations by the age of 31. That's an achievement all of it's own, espesially for a girl who rose to fame in a dodgy teen drama!

I'm extremely happy for Michelle, but I'm not even going to lie...I'm hoping Viola wins it. :ninja:

couldn't have said it better! and now I'm hoping for fabulous and frequent red-carpet appearances!

Congrats to her :flower:
I've only see trailers from My Week With Marilyn byt she looks terrific in it. I'd love to see her win too, but it's going to be a really tough game.

I'm really happy for Michelle and can't wait to see what she wears (and what stylist she uses this time). Fingers crossed for the other 3. Her statement was great.

And Dawson's Creek was not a dodgy teen drama. It was one of the most popular series in the 90s, loved by both fans & critics. The last season sucked but that's beside the point. That was not a bad start for her career.

Yeah, this is her moment. She should keep the woman who styled her for the MET Gala. Her only 'great' outfit this year.
