i also feel like it ages her, she still looks absolutely gorgeous though. i love long hair on her, but she obviously likes it this short and i agree, her reasoning behind it is very cute, i can understand why she keeps it short

IMO, it used to make her younger, nowadays it kinda does add few years, i dunno why cus it seems like it's the same haircut to the last bit. either way, i agree with Alvie, she likes it and has her reasons why she keeps it like that, so more power to her...

Heath liked it short.

“What Matilda would love is for her mom to grow out the cropped hair, though that’s unlikely to happen any time soon,” she said about her six-year-old daughter with former partner Heath Ledger.
“I’ve really grown into it — I feel like myself with short hair. And it’s been a really long time since I had long hair, five years,” she explained.
“Of course, the only people who like it are gay men and my girlfriends. Straight men across the board are not into this hair!” she added.
But one man did, she revealed.
“I cut it for the one straight man who has ever liked short hair and I wear it in memorial of somebody who really loved it,” she said of Ledger who died suddenly in 2008 at age 28.

Yeah the reasoning behind it is bittersweet. However, I don't like the pixie-cut at all, it's just too short. Loved this hair wayyy more, looks more modern and young imo:

Yeah, I loved the longer pixie cut. It was such a pretty, sweet cut.

Not only did Heath like it short but she's said that usually men are only drawn to women with longer hair and Heath loved it and made HER love it for still making her for beautiful and feminine.

I'm interested to see if she will have longer hair or the pixie cut in Oz: The Great and Powerful. I've heard she rocks a similar dress to the iconic Glinda pink dress, but I've heard nothing about her hair.

I'm in the minority but I love her hair short. it suits her perfectly imo and she manages to make it look classic rather than trendy. it's just so 'her'.
