^love the trailer - great chemistry

The first picture of Michelle Williams in character as Marilyn Monroe has been released, and fans won't be disappointed.

The Dawson's Creek star looks uncannily like the sex symbol, posing in a pale yellow sweater with her face resting gently against her right hand.

Filming has now officially started for My Week With Marilyn.
Channelling Marilyn: Michelle Williams looks iridescent as Marilyn Monroe in the first picture released from the new film
The movie is based on Colin Clark's diaries about Marilyn Monroe's time in London in 1957, shooting the Laurence Olivier film The Prince and the Showgirl.
It chronicles a week in the life of Marilyn after she leaves Hollywood behind and throws herself into British life.

Clark was assigned by Olivier to keep an eye on Marilyn, and had to stay with her every day. Williams will be starring alongside an all-British cast including: Eddie Redmayne as Colin Clark and Kenneth Branagh as Sir Laurence Olivier. There's also Judi Dench as Sybil Thorndike, Dominic Cooper as Milton Greene, Emma Watson, Derek Jacobi and Julia Ormond.

Simon Curtis will be directing, and the film will shoot on location in and around London, and for seven weeks at Pinewood studios.
Yummy mummy: Michelle in her usual down-to-earth mode as she and little four-year-old daughter Matilda take a walk. 'We are truly thrilled to be working with the immensely talented Simon Curtis on his feature debut,' says Harvey Weinstein. 'From a remarkable true story, beautifully realised script, stellar cast and top-notch crew, we couldn't be happier embarking on this production.'

Michelle definitely isn't fiesty or overtly sexual like Marilyn, it's not working for me.

^same for me. i like her, she's nice, she's a talented actress but as MM..no thanks
(and just for the records..in that pics she looks more like early Madonna than MM..)

i'll wait to see her in motion in the movie, but the face resemblance is uncanny IMO, she's spot on MM lookwise.

I'm sure this is one of the most challenging acting parts you could ever take on (besides portraying JFK; J. Onassis, Andy Warhol, and a few other 'iconic' personas from the past but still from times where motion pictures, photographs exist)

Michelle is a great actress so I am sure she will give her all but trying to interpret Marilyn is as hard as it gets...pulling of and catching the 'special aura' a persona like her had is almost impossible...no matter who would try because the audience will always compare and nothing and nobody ever can compete 100% with the original imo, especially with an iconic persona as mentioned above

but I admire her for taking the challenge on! she is a very brave hard working actress

I think Michelle looks amazing. She's an actress, which means she will ACT like Marilyn.
She doesn't have to be like her in real life or even look like her.

I'm looking forward to this film. Michelle looks amazing and I think it's unfair to judge until you see her in action.

So far, it looks good! I can't wait to see the other characters.

yes, I agree. Why she would have to as sexual as Marilyn?
She is actress and her job is to act Marilyn not be like Marilyn in real life.
Michelle is wonderful actress and I am sure she will do great job in this movie, altough we have to see the movie (or even trailer) first before judging.

Surprised this haven't been posted yet.

^^ misspistol thanks for posting :flower:

That does look very promising! loving it! so brave to interpret Marilyn! they got her really nice boobies, albeit maybe a bit too pronounced ;)

She's a good actress getting better.

Michelle will do a credible job.

Wait to judge until you see/hear/watch her walking & talking in the role before dismissing.

uhh fashion in that movie will be amazing - plus i love platinum on her ( wig? ), plus plus i spot this gorge actor behind her ( don't remember name ) :D

I agree. Sorry, I don't think anyone can pull of Marilyn Monroe's look.

That's exactly the problem. But it was obvius that someone was going to be Marilyn sometime (I don't remember if it was another mvoie about her before, I mean maybe for tv or something).
