Following red carpet tradition, Michelle Williams opted to wear a British brand for the London Film Festival premiere of her romantic new film, Blue Valentine.

The American actress took to the red carpet in a soft red lace dress from the Erdem Spring 2011 collection, matched rather expertly with quirky animal print heels.

The cut of the dress, from the sweet boatneck to the tea-length hem, perfectly suits Ms. Williams' offbeat sense of style. Retro eyeliner, thick, full lashes and a platinum blonde crop completed Michelle's London look.

i got it why she has that hair colour and that ultimately her elfin looks seemed curvier....it's due to her Marilyn role! she is a real method actress adapting her real life looks to the persona she will interpret in the movie!

^you're welcome i think she is resembling someone like Marilyn more and more trying to adjust with the eyebrows, her body, the platinum hair altough she will have a wig for sure like we saw on pics but still...it's great that she is taking it seriously and it shows somehow with this last red carpet appearance that she is totally into that era! can't wait to see more pics from the set etc. some random candids would be great too! would love to see what she does with that difficult haircut and colour from day to day

The red dress is gorgeous but I think it would have looked better with another pair of shoes. I'm so happy that she wears a dress from on of my favourite designers Erdem.
I'm so exited that she is gonna play Marilyn Monroe. I have been a fan of her (Marilyn) ever since I was a child. I adore the candids of her on the set of My week with Marilyn.
I hope there are going to be many more candids of he in that role. I think the first photo of her as Marilyn taken in a studio is gorgeous. I definitely gonna see My week with Marilyn. Thanks a billion for all the pictures.

She looks great. I think she's the perfect actress to play Marilyn. She's dealt with tragedy in her life, so I think that will help her give Marilyn that dark-undertone. She wasn't just happy and bubbly.

I love that red dress on Michelle...although the blond is a little too blond. I know it's for the movie role, but I hope she dyes it back once filming wraps.
