Something about the way she holds herself now just does not seem natural. Given all that she has been through though, I can see why she may be a bit off. She used to seem so relaxed and comfortable in her own skin, but now every photo you see she has this tight smile. I think it is something she is going through; it is hard to put on a happy face all the time.

i find her behavior lately quite perplexing and forced ("mia farrow silent beauty meets MM fashionwise"), it wasn't like that until recently. her fragility seemed real, now it seems like an image construct. i was quite surprised at her interview at the louncheon - the last couple of seconds seemed as the most real she appeared in months.

anyhow, i like the campaign for the BOO. love the pic where she's running in her gown.

It's funny that people are saying that she seems so awkward this year because I feel like she has improved. Last year, throughout the Oscars ceremony she seemed so awkward. On the red carpet, in interviews and when Jeff Bridges was describing her performance, she seemed so blank throughout. This year, she seems more animated.

Maybe she is just naturally very shy, and she has been trying to be more animated...which can sometimes come off as being not genuine. I can understand and relate to that.

Well, I was talking about at that particular award show. She was fine everywhere else (Critics' Choice, Golden Globes). I, too, can be quite awkward and shy, so I know the feeling.

I love Michelle, she is an amazing actress and I sympathize with her, but I have to agree when people say that something is "off" with her these days... she seems very "forced" almost fake and not natural at all. I hope I'm wrong but I would even say she is trying to seem this very fragile and unhappy person, just so can people (e.g the academy) vote for her. seriously, that really bothers me and disappoints me a bit
