She did well, but not as well as I had hoped she would. When she became a Givenchy exclusive and snagged the campaign with Maria Carla, I thought big things would come her way. Sadly, she hasn't gotten many campaigns since. Shu Pei and Fei Fei seem to be taking some of her spotlight.

I like Ming and I think she'll be a regular on the catwalk circuit coz she have a unique look and also a great walk. But yeah, the Givenchy buzz is no longer there I guess. She needs to land more international eds to give her more buzz. FF had plenty and the Vogue Italia one especially and the DS2 campaign really gave her a lot of push. And the fact that her agency had been really selective with her booking also helped keep her exclusivity I think. Ming walks shows big and small. With more and more new girls coming up she needs to do lots of stuff to stay on top of her game. But she's still doing ok. Hopefully 2011 will see lots more stuff from Ming.

You guys are really disappointed? I think she has done well considering the limited space for Asian models in the western market (she has campaigns for DVF and Barneys this season and others in the Chinese market)

She was really cute at Lanvin. Something about her face reminds me of Bambi.

No no, not disappointed. Just rationalizing why after her strong debut with Givenchy she didnt become a much bigger model. I still think she's doing great, but she may need to land more international work to maintain her buzz coz there are A LOT of new girls coming in every season.

I hope that this is not an inappropriate question, but Ming does not have a look that I think of when I think of a Chinese model, she's a little darker (at times) and her eyes have a different shape, if I saw a picture of her with no name or description I would have thought that she was southeast Asian, e.g., Thai or Vietnamese. It makes sense to me in that China is a big country and shares a border with Vietnam and other southeast Asian countries, but I was just wondering...

She's actually very Chinese looking, maybe more Southern Chinese looking than Northern. Liu Wen and Sun Fei Fei have much more typical Northern Chinese looks, which the fashion biz seems more enchanted by.

She is actually the palest of the models you mentioned. You cannot tell by photos but she is white as a sheet :o
