Miranda Kerr

I Hope she walks more then just Balenciaga this season.

You know, with all the "speculation" about Miranda not renewing her VS contract this year, and if they happen to be true- I would really like to see her building her career, her VS contract isn't very flexible, so if they let her go, she could have more opportunity's. She has already built her profile, I don't think she really needs VS anymore. That's only my opinion though.

And for those people who think she's "too old" for HF or building her career, she looks youthful and fresh, and it's not like she is an up and comer newbie. She can pick up her career where she left off.

^ I would like to still see Randa model for VS but not be so full on with them. And what you said about age, I think she is not too old at the moment cause she still look so youthful. But to be realistic her years are numbered :(

I don't believe her days are numbered. I think she's truly only getting started. 2009 was her biggest year, no? I think 2010 can be bigger then last, 4 magazine covers already this year (Aus. Cosmo, GQ Germany, FLARE, Italian Jack.)

I don't think age will be a factor for her, once your an established model, that's it.

If Miranda chooses to be more actively involved in high fashion work, age will not be a problem. It's not as if she's going to do a whole season! If she walks any shows in the upcoming seasons, she will pick and choose. Hypothetically, she may decide to do her favourite brands: Balenciaga, Dior and Isabel Marant, for example. As if those brands would decline to have her walk (if she was already in good favour with them) because she's too old . If Miranda wants high fashion work, there's only three things the house will have to take into consideration: the money, the press and the look.

I agree! Well, of course not the entire season, but a couple of high profile shows. Them three in particular.

Exactly! I don't think her age is something any designer would take into consideration. Especially when it comes to established models.

The only thing that is stopping her from taking a HF route is her strict contracts. In fact I was surprised she could even make it to Paris for Balenciaga considering she was confirmed shooting for VS most- if not all- days. I guess what I'm trying to say is I would not mind if she was not a VS angel. (She still seems to be actively working for them, so I'm not really too worried about them not renewing her contract)

When I said something about her age I didn't mean it at the moment :)... She can make it in HF.. But how long she will stay on top and in demand is limited. By limited I'm saying years not months or days (dont kill me ):lol: I mean when she will be in her 30's it wont be the same. I don't believe she has the powers of Kate or Naomi... Miranda is my favorite model don't get me wrong I want her to have a long and successful career but imo any models career is limited.

Of course it's limited. I'm sure she would want to settle down further in the future. But we're talking about now- at the moment. Not when she is thirty. :flower:

I'd love to see her leave VS and get to do something else than posing in bikinis and underwear.

^I kind of agree...

MIRANDA Kerr will be in Melbourne on February 17 for the David Jones autumn/winter 2010 fashion launch at Peninsula, Docklands.

Kerr recently finished a fashion shoot in Queenstown, New Zealand, that will feature at the launch.

The theme of the glamorous shoot was A Long White Winter, with renowned fashion photographer Hugh Stewart.

Some of the designers who will feature on the day include Sass & Bide, Collette Dinnigan and Alex Perry.

I can't wait. :woot:

IMO I think that Miranda's MO is more about building a brand than working in high fashion. She has always headed towards a more commercial route and I think she will continue that way and develop different things under her own branding rather than aim for high fashion campaigns and runway shows.

I think your right but I rather wish she didn't. I know it's quick and easy money even if she just went for the Australian market but it's also a very cheap career route to take, imo.

To be honest that's what I think too! I mean, she is releasing books, skin care line, clothes line... Seriously, I wish she didn't. She should focus on her career while it's still hot, wait for her name is get a bit more bigger. Seriously, I don't like this whole "Miranda empire" stuff. Miranda, please, just don't. :judge:

Yes, please leave the celebrity empires to the Jessica Simpsons of this world. I really hope Miranda feels like she's worth more than that even if her skin-care is all organic and oh-so-good and stuff she is still just sticking her name to what others created (don't even try to convince me she developed this line herself). The same goes for clothing. Doing something that's all her own without just putting her famous name on a label just because it sells would make me respect her so much more.

Exactly!

I agree for the most part.Though I think every celebrity just stick they're names on most products, but she did help out with the KORA ingredients, introducing Noni juice.

I don't know all this stuff sounds so tacky. I really don't want her to make an empire. Like, I will support her no matter what but she should stick to modeling. :ninja: I don't want her to go in that direction. Not now.

With saying that, I must say, it does seem to me that she is concentrating more on modeling for now (With all the traveling and shooting she has been doing, I assume to be expecting a few things from her). She needs more exposure before making any sort of empire.

^I know this is a bit off topic but my friends went to buy noni juice at a health store and the sales lady looked wierdly at my friends and said "Why are all teenage girls asking for this?" We both think its the Miranda effect.. I mean she brought it because of Miranda and I brought it because of Miranda too :p

What am I concluding.. anything Miranda puts her name to will sell .. I think building an empire is a smart idea.. ;)

In Australia, anything Miranda puts her name on will sell.... I'd like to see her name reach out into NZ (if it hasn't already) and Asia. I'm not sure Miranda wants to build an 'empire' but by the looks of things anything she puts her name on in Oz, sells.

^Ah well it is very unreasonably priced..

but I'll say this:

Miranda can sell Australian MAGAZINE covers.. shes been on so many Australian magazine covers .. and I bet its because as a covergirl she sells :)

Not true. From what I hear Kora is doing very poorly.

Really? Ouch.

About Randa and HF. She's always done random bits of HF. HB UK cover? Jalouse ed? John Richmond? Elle cover? I don't think she tries to be HF or commercial she does whatever she can get, maybe.
