I don't see why some people are so against Miranda doing HF. I think she pulls it off excellently. She has the tiny figure for it and a great face.

Well, some people are just against commercial models in general doing HF. I remember some (more then some actually) people being so against Adriana when she was returning to HF- Though I think she proved herself with her Givenchy ad.

TBH, Miranda is more of a commercial model. Lovely face, vibrant personality, good body. She's the quintessential commercial girl.
But she has proven, that she can do HF well. (People just need to look past Miranda the VS angel, with the dimples, and accessible, brilliant beauty.)

I also love the articles about how Prada is bucking the skinny model trend by hiring the "curvier" VS angels. They make it seem like Miranda and Alessandra and the rest of the VS crew are so much bigger. Miranda is probably thinner than some of the HF girls.

^ have to disagree I think its because her face is so girl next door, it doesnt have that edge to it that most HF models do. But I love Miranda doing HF work, she can surly pull of alot of things, as long as she doesn't smile ahahaha it just makes her look too sweet

But the reason of some people not being so accepting is because she is a VS angel. Same thing happened with Adriana (But not to Adriana's extent).
Their are a lot of very sweet/beautiful faces in the industry- So, I don't think her face should be a problem with HF acceptance.
Though, I do agree that her smiling is just too much sugar for HF to handle.

^ No one was saying HF girls in general are ugly, though. Just the term "edgy" gets thrown around a lot. A lot of high fashion girls are a far cry from ugly or even edgy. (Toni, Frida, Magda, Anna J, to name a few)
edgy and unusual are not requirements to be successful in HF.

Btw: I must say, I don't think Miranda is trying to be a 'high fashion' model or a 'commercial' model. I think she just does whatever is thrown her way. Of course commercial is her type of market, and that market led her to more opportunities. I think she is just trying to do the best she can, and every opportunities she's been given, she's taken.

what else do you want from her? for goodness sake, she walked PRADA! that's major. Girls would kill to walk Prada. It's one of the most, if not, only exclusive show to walk in, in Milan. The models get more attention than the collection.

I still don't like the idea of VS girls at Prada (and lack of my Sasha ) but I think all of them did a good job and looked not worse than other models. I am not fond of Miranda's face but I think she looked good at Prada and it wasn't like 'Oh these girls must be commercial!!' No, they didn't look different from other models. Maybe Miranda looked more mature than usuall,y but she's not 23 anymore.
OT:
I am surprised people are bashing over Doutzen so much. I don't think she looked that good to be honest but I Think it's the dress which was badly chosen for her. She should be proud to have a faminin body.

I think maybe 'they' are referring to Doutzen? I flicked though the pics on style.com and as soon as Doutzens came up I was like 'woah, she's curvy'... not calling her fat at all, just when you put her next to all those tiny HF models its makes her looks bigger than she realistically is

Anyway I was so excited to hear of Miranda walking for Prada, I adore Miuccia and her shows and I adore MK, so I'm more than happy!
